Mulching Kit

Does anyone have any experience with Scag Mulching Kits. They sound pretty good. Does anyone know how to make one? I'm just tired of wasting so much time on fertilizing and not cutting as much as I want to. Does anyone know how much it is? That would be a great help.

I have never owned a Scag, but I have bought mulch kits for a Bunton and Bobcat. The factory kits are expensive, about $250. The thing is I don't even use them anymore because of clumping during heavy growth or wet conditions. Now I just use Gator blades and side discharge. This works much better for me. I have friends who have made their own kits which basically consist of a steel plate bolted over the shute, but the factory kits often include a large steel plate which surrounds the blades inside the deck to create a vaccum.
