ok, not promising anything here, but if we were to change the color scheme for the Landscaping and Hardscaping forums here on LawnSite, what would some color suggestions be?

Please keep in mind, if we would decide to change the colors, it would not be the green that is currently used on LawnSite...so, what are some suggestions, besides green :)

Thanks

Anything but this! LOL

It's funny Mike, on one of my computers this one is in two shades of brown, the background color being sort of a pale nutmeg... on the other, the background appears to be a butter yellow...

Anyway, Irrigation should be shades of blue. Not sure about lighting.

Shades of blue work for me. I am sure you can find a number of pre-designed colour pallettes much like windows uses for for its display options.

Why can't you simply keep the whole site the same? Revert to the colour scheme you had before the changes. No one complained about that.

Regards.

I'm more of an earth tone fan so I'm good with it as it is. Maybe since we tend to work alot in the dark we should have black and grey??

I know I hate this. I liked the way the color scheme was before and the way it still is on other forums in lawnsite.

I don't understand why the brown scheme doesn't work, it just doesn't.

Sometimes on the lighting forum it would be best black on black so we can't see what each other is saying.

I think if you keep it as is, but simply change the light tan part that is under my text here to the gray that is on lawn site it would be fine

I prefer the example shown by TPnTX.

JUST DO IT!

I doubt if they have that much control. Its probably a choice from availabe schemes.

I agree with TPnTX on post #9. That looks pretty good. I think the important thing here is to have good contrast for readability. In fact, I think think the color scheme you have now would be fine if you just lowered the color saturation; but like others are saying, may be coming from a template.

Wll this is a little better...

Well, ok, maybe 10% better.... but my god what is with that horrible Orange Banner at the top...

Why cant the admins just make the people happy and do as we ask, return to the old colour scheme. I just don't understand their lack of willingness to go along here. Nobody likes this colour scheme, many people have voiciferously stated this and still no effort on behalf of the admins to change it.

What ever happened to "the customer is always right?"

I have to agree here. There was a SAAB body color in the early to mid 1980's that was this very shade of orange. Haven't seen that color in years until I saw this banner.

I dunno Mike, I think that was a Fiat Spyder color... or maybe a Chevy Monza or Vega from the 70's.

Not a Vega, we had one of those. They were orange from the rust. I used to watch the road go by from a hole under my feet.

Here's the SAAB.

OK, it's a 500, not a Spyder....

And a friend of mine had one of these

Lots of orange cars...

Can't find a picture of an orange Vega though... will a parted out Pinto do?

Ahhh the much maligned Pinto! My Mom had one of those in the 70's... I can remember actually sitting in the hatch back making faces and gestures to those behind us. LOL ( I(I was 7) No seat belt of course, and before we found out they had that little issue of blowing up when hit from behind. So, she got rid of it... and picked up a Capri instead.... next was an AMC Gremlin. (Mom didn't have great luck at picking cars!)

These always looked like fun to me...... though in reality, I bet they were a real pain.

Of course probably easier to maintain than my 1300 CC '66 Beetle.... with the old 6V electrical system. Spent a lot of time gapping plugs, filing points and changing oil. And it took me from San Jose, CA to Whidbey Island, WA, Truth or Consequences, NM to Big Sur, CA, and many points in between.

Gregg,

Did you have those flowers and peace signs painted all around it?

Gregg,

Did you have those flowers and peace signs painted all around it?

Of course not. This was the 70's, not the 60's. :)

There was a see thru Tibetan mandala sticker on the rear window though... and a SYF* on the driver side rear window as I recall...

It had a sunroof (hand cranked)... and it was Bahama Blue.

*SYF = Steal Your Face (right off of your head).... from the lyrics of a GD song called He's Gone.

http://www.sandiegoserenade.com/images/steal-your-face.jpg

Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, you know better but I know him.
Like I told you, what I said, steal your face right off your head.

Now hes gone, now hes gone, lord hes gone, hes gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin down the track
Hes gone, gone, nothins gonna bring him back...hes gone.

Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside.
Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

Now hes gone, now hes gone lord hes gone, hes gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin down the track
Hes gone, gone, nothins gonna bring him back...hes gone.

Goin where the wind dont blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.
Lost one round but the price wasnt anything,
A knife in the back and more of the same.

Same old, rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb,
You know better but I know him.
Like I told you, what I said,
Steal your face right off your head.

Now hes gone, now hes gone lord hes gone, hes gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin down the track
Hes gone, gone, nothins gonna bring him back...hes gone.

Ooh, nothins gonna bring him back.

Holy *&%#, they have that song on rotation lately on Sirius's Dead channel, and I go nuts when I hear it. Steal your face right off your head. That's so awesome. Thanks for the full lyrics, Gregg!
