I was curious if all 5' wide trailers are EXACTLY 5' wide? Reason being I need something that will fit a 60" deck without having to turn it sideways. I also don't need anything longer than 8 or 10 ft max. Any recommendations?

its 5 foot wide at the deck. than u have to add the axle or wheel wells to each side

hmmm, trailers are measured from the outside if I am correct, soo, if you buy a 5x8 for example, you are not going to fit a 60" mower inside, not to mention, you have the rear door frame to clear, I would go with a 6x10 at least, with the extra height so you don't bump your head every time you go in and out by the rear door frame

well if u have a 60" mower and a 60" gate i dont think it will fit because a 60" mower is usually an inch wider or so.

thanks guys. Just so you know, this will not be for professional use. We are building a new office and I'll be taking care of our property so just need a cheap way to transport a Z about 3 miles. I'm not going to be hauling a bunch of stuff nor do I need an enclosed setup. I'm trying to keep the cost around $1k or below. I'm thinking used. Any other ideas? TIA

yea u ought to be able to find a used 6 by 8 or somethin cheap. all u need is a single axle. so im shure u can find one under a grand.

Enclosed trailers are by the outside, opens are measured by the deck. A 5X8' open landscape with side rails will not accept a 60" cut mower. A 6' one will.

Our D2E 6X16 is just over 6' wide inside.

Have a look at some of the aluminum snowmobile trailers like northtrail or sledbed or triton. They would more than do the job.

No, there's not a 1/4 inch to spare and even if there is you'll constantly hit
the sides scraping up paint in the process.

For that short of a distance, so long you can keep your speed below say 40 mph and you have some kind of a way to secure the
machine I might consider a trailer with no sides, also check out some homemade models and the home owner trailers at HD /
Lowe's / Northern.
