Please help!

I need to get a price recommendation on a few propertys that I have the chance to quote on for 2002.

A. 1 Acre commercial lot. Flat with a few trees, but rough weeds
and some sticks and stones. I expect first and or all cuts to be
made with a high speed tractor pulled rotary mower. 1 or 2 cuts
per month. Finish trim around trees and road with hand held
trimmer.
(30 min. from headquarters)

B. 1.5 Acre commercial lot. On 20 degree incline with several dips
and a few rock piles. 3/4 can be cut with Tractor pulled rotary
and the rest will need to be cut with hand held trimmer. 1 or 2
cuts per month.
(20 min. from headquarters)

C. 2 Acres along a highway. 60 degree incline which can only be
cut with hand held trimmer. I can bust hump and cut this in 3.5
hours, but its a back breaker with my modified sthil trimmer.
Cut twice a month. (20 min from Headquaters)

All Jobs one man on site!

Any advice on hourly pricing or by job would be appreciated. Until
now I have just under bid the lowest bidder, but I need to get my act together and have a proper formula for bids.

Welcome to LawnSite.com

Have you taken the time to use LawnSite.com's search feature?

If you use the term "bid" (among others) you will find several years worth of past discussions and helping answers.

Also, underbidding the lowest bidder just to grab a job is not the right track... im sure you will get some feedback on that.

Also,..... We have no idea what kind of company you have. There is no way to estimate your properties without more information.

go buy hour, best way to do it i think, for the jobs that are mainly riding tractor, u charge a little less per hour then u would the ones that require a lot of push mowing, the one with all the trimming would be a lot more.

IMHO, I would not want that hand held job...
It will break your back less than halfway through, it will take forever for 2 acres, you could fall and get hurt (roll onto highway with trimmer wacking you in face and then a car runs you over???) and why bother when you could be riding a Z or something easier like that???? just M.H.O....

$1900.00 per month is wh I do it...cause thats what the bank is willing to pay for road side exposure and nobody else wants to do it. For fear of rolling down the hill...Ha Ha
