I found a nice used truck that I am getting either Monday evening or Tuesday morning, depending on when they get done fixing some problems for me. My question is how should I pay the dealer? Its a $6500 truck my only option is cash but I don't want to walk in with a stack of 100's. I also know they won't take a personal check. Is there like a certified check or something that I can get? Thanks for any help.

go get a cashiers check from the bank.
Some places don't even like cashiers checks anymore, there are people that can print them now days. some people (including me) will only take cash or transfers. I will only deal during banking hours. Last year I sold a skid loader, the guy wanted to bring a cashiers check, I called my banker and she suggested to not take one.

so you think money is my safest bet? My credit card is only good for $500, so thats outta the question.
They might take a cashier's check, just ask it is a good method if the selling party agree's there just not as safe for the seller as they used to be.

Bring the cash. When I bought my 3/4 ton GMC I brought $15k in cash as a down payment. They said that anything over $10k they have to fill out IRS paperwork so I gave them $9900 cash and wrote a check for the rest.

Have a guy wearing a black suit and sunglasses walk in behind you with a briefcase hand-cuffed to his wrist full of cash. It would be sweet....:cool2:
I really don't have a good answer, sorry
