I'm interested in opinions of mini skid user's on this Craigslist deal and the machine itself: 244D Finn Eagle Mini Skid Steer CAT Diesel Power with Bucket 163 hours, Auxiliary Attachment Power $9,500.00. Not sure how well a tired model would do in the sandy soil here but maybe adding the over-the-tire tracks would solve any traction issues? Primarily would use it for residential landscaping jobs on established properties.

Tires suck.
I would only get a tracked model.
The over the tire tracks help but I would still get tracks.

I Prefer the Ditch witch SK350.
It has easy to use controls and is light and easy to move.

around here the ditch witch 650 (tracked unit) is what everyone seems to end up with......they try the others and within a short period of time, I see them with a tracked ditch witch.

The 650 is a beast but it weighs 2600+ pounds.
Thats why I prefer the 350 it weighs in at 1650.

That is not a smoking deal. Hell you can get a wheeled dingo for 3-4k... and a tracked one for a little more. For an offbrand like Finn I would expect to get it much cheaper. I am partial to tracked Dingo's... not quite the powerhouse that the ditchwitch 650 is, but I am willing to bet the mainenance and longetivity on drive systems is much better than a ditchwitch.

All the rental yards here swear by the DW and they are really simple in the way they are built.
I hate the Dingos controls.

You hate the wheeled dingo controls... the tracked versions are completely different... virtually the same a DW.

The one I hate is that stupid bar steering.
The ones with the 2 joysticks are okay.

I like the tracked dingo controls... employees have no trouble learning it... maybe DW is smoother... I don't know. I have seen several DW with replacement hydromotors... not sure if it is widespread or not.

Not sure about the DW reliability since I do not own one personally.
Good thing to know about the hydromotors.
