I have an f350 dump and want to get a leaf loader for next season.
What is the best possible, efficient way to add a leaf loader to my set-up?
I have a trailer for equipment and wish to find the most efficient way to add a loader. I thought that, perhaps, a swing away loader and then dump is the best way. My truck has a pintle/ball for the trailer . . . Would having a 2" receiver welded on and then adding a swing away loader to a barn door box be most reasonable?
Thanks for your help.

i like to mount it on the cab shield, its out of the way and you can still haul a trailer.

If you're going to tow the trailer when the leaf loader is on board, it won't fit between the truck body and the trailer. Most guys around here mount them on the tongue of the trailer with the chute aimed into the truck box. Then they can drop the whole trailer and dump the load. If you're not towing, the wing-away works fine. We've got one made by Little Giant. It works great.

I have my leaf loader mounted on a 4 wheel dolly. I carry it on the trailer and load from the front. Its easier to get to the piles with the front of the truck. The heaviest material ends up at the back of the truck and slides off very easy, or if you unload by hand, the worst is at the back.

Gene GLS: do you have any pictures of your setup, I was thinking som. ething along those lines, maybe use an atv trailer and mount it to that, so I could move it around easier

I made the dolly frame out of 2x6's with 3/4" plywood on top. Bolted the loader to the plywood, used 2 fixed and 2 swivel 6" rubber wheels. Very easy to push by hand. I use 7" stove pipe from the loader to the truck. I also use a ratchet strap to hold the loader in place when mounted to the front of the truck..Its in my storage garage and I'm not sure if I can get it out to take a pic.

Thanks for the description. I was planning to build something this winter to that effect. So I could roll it up onto the trailer and take both the trailer and loader. Last season I would use the vac one day and then switch it and take the trailer the next with the mowers. I was looking for something more efficient. I’ll post some pictures if I get something together before the spring starts. Thanks again.

I have my leaf vac mounted on a swing away kit. The brackets where welded to the rear side of my dump. Then they bolted the swing away kit to that, so my loader sit directly in the middle of the rear of the truck plus its at the right height. If u have it to high the hose tends to clog more. I can pull my trailer with it on if i wanted to. It has one pin that u lift up and u can swing it completly out of the way to dump.

jk landscape.... is it possible to see a pick of your set up. I am looking to do something like that with my dump so I can still pull a trailer but I dont want to mount it to the trailer bc its very difficult to get a 22 foot trailer into a residential drive..
thanks
