a snapper 2 stage I524 5 hp. traction slipping, checked belts ,ok. when I lift wheels up off the ground , they spin nice. it's when weight is on them that it's straining. does it in all gears[turtle to rabbit] any fixes? thanks

Unit should have a friction wheel that drives it. Wheel is probably worn out. The belt drives a flat disc/pulley and the wheel runs off that pulley. there should be a cover on the bottom of the blower held in with maybe 6 screws. Take off the cover and you will be able to see everything.

thanks shop 22 , that friction wheel does look worn. is it the disk with a solid rubber around it? how hard is it to replace?
