what kind of mpg were you getting with the turbo upgrade and what truck? we have a 03 450 that needs the extra power!

It came off a 1999.5 f-350. the truck gets around 20mpg. the turbo will not help with mpg

Its a ball bearing turbo would be a good upgrade for a stock 7.3 or a mild chip. It probably wouldn't handle any full flow swamps maybe baby swamps.

With a F-450 you would have to be very very carefull about EGTs the truck is heavy and dumping too much fuel into the engine can result in some piston melting.

Ball bearing turbo is for durability.

Ok well what all comes with it? just a turbo? or is it like a full kit bigger intercooler and all? Can I just put it in place of the stock turbo? or does it need other stuff? the truck is so slow! and we are pullin the motor out in the next week or so. might as well if its out right? or would it become a reliability issue?

Its just the turbo. why are you pulling the motor?

if you read my thread below this is the same truck that is leaking oil at the time. and since there is 0 room under the hood we have decided to pull the motor to check out the entire motor while we are in there ya know just tryin to decide if this would help the trannys just got rebuilt to heavier specs shift kit and a heavy duty torque converter so we want the motor to be problem free for another 200k or so we hope

Should just drop right in! It wouldnt hurt to put a nice intake on it.

Its a bolt on turbo for a 99.5 - 2003 7.3 motor. Early 99 7.3's will need a bunch of misc parts to make it bolt on but its not hard to track them down...Good luck with the sale. Id be in the market for parts of that nature if I hadnt just picked up a dump truck.

oh man that'd be sweet! how much extra hp and torque would this add?

Thats all dependent on your supporting mods and boost levels... with proper supporting mods, intake, exhaust, a chip, injectors... all that fun stuff these turbos generally are good up to around 400hp. Yes some have made a decent amount more but in general. The turbo itself will spool faster and can handle more boost (safely) over stock.
