90% of the Marathon Stations sell Non ethanol gas, when i went inside and asked if all stores had non ethanol? i was told yes unless fl congressmen sit on there buts and do not renew the optional law the all gas will be no-less then E10 in 2010 or 2011 i think.

Let your congressman know that u need E10 optional at stations.

I am a process tech for Shell Chemicals and our gas is 100% ethanol free also that is all I run in my equipment.

Yeah and they pay close to 10 dollars a gallon for it.

Ethanol uses more energy to make than it creates.

It also has hidden costs in crop subsidies.

It decreases fuel mileage, and causes mechanical harm to your vehicle.

there is only one marathon gas station that i know of in my area, and it used to be a citgo station, anyways the gas is like 12 cents higher then sams club down the road...i do buy gas at shell/circle k stations at times when the price is right.

Hmm...all of the Shell stations in my area have signs posted that read "100% Gas)...the 10% thing must be a FL thing

I guess I'm just clueless here but if I'm running mid grade pump gas from Hess or Mobile it has 10% ethanol in it? And that is bad for mowers and 2 cycle stuff? How long have they been doing this for? What kinda damage can I expect from 10% ethanol?

Diaphragm problems, primer balls drying out and cracking prematurely. Gaskets and anything rubber is a target of ethanol destruction. Aluminum component corrosion. Alcohols are very hard on rubber and aluminum. Alcohols are also very prone to attracting moisture. The moisture accumulates in the carburetion system and fuel tank and one day you have a problem with getting it to run right. The moisture also helps along with the corrosion.

Your equipment has no ability to adjust fuel mixture to the air ratio. your equipment will run leaner on the E10, creating more heat in the combustion chamber. This is why your trucks get worse fuel economy on E10, the air flow meter gets the reading from the upstream O2 sensor that the engine is running lean and starts dumping more fuel to it to compensate. Look for your handhelds and mowers running on unmetered air to not last as long.

Exxon stations here sell only 100% gasoline. To me its worth the extra nickel a gallon to have less problems.

I should tell my congressman that I don't think we should be using ethanol at all. The fuel takes more energy to make than it even contains. If anything biodiesel needs to be sold in more places at prices comparable to dino diesel. I hope the politicians pull their head out of their rear end and put an end to the ethanol nonsense.

I The fuel takes more energy to make than it even contains.

Now if we can get more people to see this.

Dont forget the money spent in crop subsidies before the crop makes it to the processors.

how long have they been adding this crap to our gas? I never pay attention to the fuel addetives, hell I don't even hunt for the cheapest fuel prices anymore. Its all just a big waste of my time I just swipe my card and pump my gas, I haven't had any problems with anything yet.
