changing business name....

I am considering changing my business name due to two other companies in my area with the same name. I am lisensed and an LLC business. I have their customers calling me and it gets really annoying. Also when at a vendor like a nursury they always have to ask which business I am because they have 3 of the same business names in the computer. What would you do? I know its gonna be a pain in the A$$ but i dont know what else to do?? My trucks are lettered so thats gonna have to change,business cards,yard signs,etc. I will also have to send out letters to all past customers explaining the name change. If im gonna do it i guess the sooner the better.

Do a DBA under the current LLC. All you ned to to do is go down to the county office and fill out a form and pay $30 (here anyway) and your done. Now you can do whatever you like with the new name.

Just a thought, you could do the DBA like Big Country's Lawn Care Solutions or insert your name first.

So it would be Lawn Care Solutions LLC DBA Dave's Lawn Care Solutions.

Also I would look into if you have rights to the name whereas they do not.
