Well since everyone has been talking about truck add-ons/upgrades in the picture forum I got thinking and came up with a nice list of what I want to do to mi '07 Dodge by Spring '09.
- Windows Tinted (backs A LOT darker and mild tint on fronts)
- Mud Flaps
- Rhino Spray-In Bedliner
- Towing Mirrors
- Back Rack - w/ CAT rear work lights and a mini LED
- Weather Guard Tool Box (like Colins)
- 6 Head Strobe Kit Installed (have it all sitting in a box ready to go)
- Seat Covers (been using sheets lmao)
- Better Rubber Floor Mats (current ones SUCK)
- Oh and it needs new tires
so lets hear what you guys want are up to....

looking back i ended up doing a lot to my truck this year..more than i realized.
-Mud flaps (very useful)
-Toolbox w/ '5 minute mount' system
-new tires...like them a lot...these actually grip the road
-put floor mats in
-Whelen 90 watt strobes (4 head)
Next year i'm hoping that i'm able to keep going
-2 more strobe heads for my kit
-some type of cover for the truck bed, preferably one that can be on w/ and w/o the box
-possibly rhino lining, or new bed liner
NNJ, are you doing the kit yourself?

what is your "5 minute mount" for your toolbox? have a box in our 2500hd and was looking for a better way to mount it.
plan to do as of today, lol
09 F350:
hid kit - have in box
install our led bar - have in box
pick up the weather tech mats from dealership
get the spray in liner from the dealership (for free!)
vent visors, snap in not the tape on crap
bug guard
timbrens on the front
install the backup lights- have in box
02 2500hd:
fix pass. side back up light
fix air leak in driver front tire
put seat covers on
get new lightbar/strobe+hideaways
98 c3500 dump:
rewire the two strobe lights
build a leaf box
beef up front end

i actually saw something you said and remembered that i need to put reverse lights on...backing up in the dark on hills sucks..haha...any idea how to mount them to a 150?
the mount i have is from lowes...its not a great box, but it works. the mount was $20, but i got two sets, so four total mounts... they basically have two pieces that clamp your bedrail and you then bolt them together. then set the toolbox on them and bolt it down. Each mount has two bolts that go trough it, so with one set of mounts you have 4 bolts.
I got two kits so that it is bolted down in all four corners. I like the system a lot. Makes it much easier when i need my hole bed, like when im doing tent rentals w/ the fd.

i dont 'do them'....but me and my buddy put mine in while we were on duty at the first aid building one day..i was just gonna say if u were doing it to watch out w/ the light casing and make sure there was an inch of clearance between them and the lenses...my one friend melted his corners because he didnt mount them right and they shifted. (He did his in an hour and mine took 3 or 4...i wonder y his moved)...
but having a company do it is probably the best idea..

Its the bug shield like things that go over your windows. So you can still open your windows a bit even when its raining.

i think the hardest thing about installing them is finding a good place to mount them. I hate when something looks hokey, so i try to make everything fit nice and clean. the 350 has a nice bracket under and behind the bumper that will allow me to mount them nice and solid and with easy access.
Whatever you do, dont skimp on the electrical hookup. i know alot of people who just tap into the reverse lights in the taillights and use that as power. the proper way is to use a relay. You pull a positive lead from under your hood all the way to where you want to mount them. The positive lead goes into the relay and will serve as the power for your backup lights. Next you need to ground your relay, which is simple. Then you need to tap into your reverse lights (one side only) and bring that lead into the relay. This lead acts as the switch, so when you put it in reverse and your tails light up, it sends power to the relay as well and opens it to send power (from the line your brought from the front) to the reverse lights. and the last terminal on the relay is the wire that goes to the reverse lights. Most reverse lights ground through the mounting bracket so no worries there.
Napa has nice reverse lights, thick glass lens and completely housed in a rubber cover.

ic, what we use now is just four bolts that bolt it down to the bed rails, id like something completely removable b/c we through a camper on the back of the chevy when we go four wheeling. My dad sleeps in the bed of the truck on the air mattress and my brother and I get the tent lol.

yea...i like it...and it litereally does take 5 minutes to change...i normally just take it off and leave it rite behind my truck, so its easy..you lose a lot w/ a 2' box in a 6' bed...

dont remind me... my dad still complains that we made him get a short bed for our chevy.
thats why we got an 8' on the 350. crew cab too!

we just picked up the truck on wed from the boss dealer. 9' 2" v blade.
i have been plowing with our dump truck, it has L boxes and an 8' dump and a blizzard plow. so im used to plowing with a bulky vehicle
BltFordTuf

that's true...i guess it just looks long cuz its a pickup and not as wide as the dumps....
you have any pics of the truck w/ the plow on it?

well i use them for both...if im on the side of the road i turn the backs on...not normally the front since they have the blues in them...but the most use they get is responding to the firehouse or first aid squad...

Get all the random, "mysterious" dents taken care of on my '08 Dodge.
F-250: Probably will need to put new tires (Toyo MT 35's at the moment). Considering lifting another 4" (right now leveling kit on front and blocks on rear) and putting truck on Toyo MT 37's...

So im thinking of doing some kind of LED strobe stuff that some of you have done already but I'm completely lost at where to even start at. I would love for someone to help me out with this.
Also anyone with a Silverado 3/4HD 6.0 have custom exhaust system? Im looking at going with Magnaflow, is that good?

do you want hidden lights, like in the heads and tails....or like a dash light thing. You can get the hidden in either LED or strobe. LED's tend to be much more expensive and not many people that i know have them. The strobes work well though...

I was thinking about just putting them in the heads and tails. I like the LED because they last longer. I really just don't know anything about any of it except where i want to put them. you can just PM me if you would like

we have a custom exhaust on our 2500hd. its true duals all the way back to dual swept side exits. it was done at a shop here in town. and an AEM brute force intake, and hypertech programmer and upgraded brakes.

i have dual 40 series flowmasters on one of mine w/ the 6.0 and love it. just make sure that you have two actual mufflers, it will cost a little more than a dual in dual out but the sound is awesome, and on the dual in dual out it creates a horrible resonating sound in the cab. true dual 40 series flowmasters w/ 4" tips sounds awesome, and no annoying cab noise either.
