For walks round up.
I know its not pre-emergent but it works.

for walks use Dimension or Pennant. Both are clear and will not stain. I do not think using a pre-emergent on cracks in sidewalks is cost effective since the product seems to break down due to heat and you get volenteers anyway which require you to treat with roundup anyway

For beds, Treflan, Dimension, Snapshot, Barricade, Ronstar, Casoron. Depends on the weeds involved and the plant material. Read the label

for beds, snapshot. for walks,and patios we use triox(lesco version of it) early in the year, and round-up the rest of the year. on patios the triox is sprayed liberally(especially if it is a brick patio), then lightly sprayed with water to soak in. this seems to last for about half a season before weeds begin popping back up again.

seeing as though triox is rather cheap, i find that it saves money on the use of round-up throughout the season. the same is true of snapshot.
