the 1-800-lawn-cuts is a vanity # you pay them to use in certain zip codes that you pay for each month.they help with marketing and get post cards and etc. @ a lower rate. i will meet with them on wed. just seeing if guys on here have thought to use them or what?

How much does it cost? I've heard they can range from $200-$300/Month per Zip Code?

I talked to the rep for a long time. In my opinion, they do not properly utilize their vanity number.

Their main plan is to make you go out a put up a bunch of door hangers. When putting up door hangers it doesn't matter if you have a 1800 number or not.

I think that it is pretty much a scam because after you put out all that advertising you still have to pay for their stupid phone number to get the calls. For instance if you publish a yellow pages ad with that phone number you won't get any calls if you ever don't feel like paying $100-250 per month..

$110/month, that's not too bad, how many zip codes does this include? I've talked to the guy in my town that has the 1-800-LAWNCARE #, and he says it cost him a lot more that $110, just curious?

Rule of thumb for me would be that if I have never heard of that number, chances are customers around here probably havent either.

Exactly!!! If none of us have ever heard of it (myself included), there's no way our customers have.

i bought 9 zip codes and that is as much as i can do . its over a 100 mile radius. as far as no one knowing the 1-800 # , that's where putting on the side of your truck and trailer and putting out flyer's comes in. they will remember the 1-800 # easy er. i'll keep you guys posted.

That's not too bad at all, is there any sign up fee or anything like that? You just pay your first month and your signed up? Do they give you any other benefits, I've heard they are associated with the real green systems software, do they give you the software to use or any other resources like that?

I think you're missing the point...that number is very easy for someone to remember. Someone could pass a sign going 70mph and remember it without writing it down. It would all depend on how the LCO gets the number out in the public eye.

they have a $495.00 set up fee. that is for the 1-800 3 set up plus all the paperwork. i paid the fee this month and i don't have a payment until the first week of Feb.and yes they are associated with real green systems. how i don't know but a marketing specialist will call me on Monday for a 3 hour marketing set up. so i will know better then.

I guess im wondering if the LCO has the responsibility of getting the number out in the public eye, why would you pay some company 400 or 500 bucks for a vanity number. You are going to be doing all the work in getting the number out there and they are collecting your check. I would rather pay a 30 or 40 dollar charge to my local phone company and have my own local vanity number. You can ask them if certain numbers are taken or not. I dont see long distance or 800 as any plus as nobody could afford me if I had to drive that kind of a distance to service their lawn. I would be VERY interested in seeing an update six months from now to know exactly how many customers were retained from this experiment. Im afraid you are going to be disappointed...but wish the best irregardless.

Just want to make sure I understand this, you are paying $110 a month plus $49.99 a month for a total of $159.99 for 9 zip codes plus a $499.99 set up fee with unlimited calls?

What exactly are you getting out of this besides a vanity number? I might not understand? I had a 1888 ___lawn number years ago and it was maybe $10 a mo. and .10 a call. Didnt do much so I got rid of it. Do they give you free door hangers?

Honestly I would say save your money, and order a local vanity #, I purchased the last 4 digits 5296 "LAWN" and that works just the same but for only $20/Month!

A 888 number is not near as effective as a 800 number as people can't remember it and were probably calling the 800 version of your number, studies have shown this. Even with the 888 number if it didn't help much then I would say you didn't market it well.
