I have been wanting to take a short course on turf management, I have searched online many times, I am in Missouri, I haven't had much luck. Have any of you taken a short course in turf management, or something related, and how did you find out about it?

why dont you just take it a local community collage? it will cost a few hundred bucks but will be worth it.

I am currently taking a horticulture 101 course at meramec community college in st. louis. Their 3 credit hour turf class only comes once every 4 semesters are so. They have about 20 different types of hort classes though with varying types of degrees. I will try to take a night class their over the next couple of years while I am working.

I looked into that, but I don't have time for all of those classes. and if I remember correctly there are prerequisits needed to sign up for a certain classes. I am just looking for something short that I can take during the winter months.

Check with you county extention office, they should have a master gardner course through what ever your state agriculture college is. It is more than turf management but covers a varity of horticulture subjects.
In Arkansas it is a 40 hour course and cost is 50$, to maintain master gardner status you have to volunteer 20 hours/ year. but if you just want to learn, just take the course and let your status expire. But if you have a good extention officer his knowledge will be invaluble.
This is my first year as a master gardner and i plan to keep at it, you cannot use the title master gardner title commercially, but the contacts and people whom you can contact with certain problems, questions or advise is worth the time put in.
Check this out all states have some type of organization. http://www.mlna.info/
