Almost everyone these days has them on their PC I don't care if you are number one in the industry or just starting out. The vast majority of contracts are in a word file.
You can download sample contracts from the internet if you do a search and then modify them to your specific business or you can go to a lawyer an have him type one up for a fee that you use.
There are a few out there that still use handwritten triplicate boiler plate generics, that can still be purchased from places like staples.

all mine i have made up on the computer. they all explain in detail what i will be doing, the pricing for the job, and most important, the due date. also any late fees that will be added if payment is not received by the due date. just explain everthing you will be doing in detail and you should be fine. i found out most clients like how i have it because it explains everthing and they or you aren't second guessing.

I have a template that I use, I found it after hours of searching on the web. I was not going to pay for one but I found one that is PERFECT! I tweaked it to include other services and some of the verbage had to be changed a bit. I always submit a proposal first. My contract is 4 pages and very wordy to include the legalities and all. It's better to submit a one page proposal outlining in simple terms what you do and what you will charge. Once this is approved I transfer the client information and charges to the contract.
