I have a Stihl FS 66 Trimmer that is about 20yrs old, still runs great but I need a few parts for it. I have looked on line but can't find anything for it, do you have to go to the dealer for all of your Stihl parts? Is this where they make there money?

Sthil is a dealer supported line, and there is not alot of after-market availability. And parts is were EVERY manufacture makes their money

Thanks very much. Is it the same for all the other major manufacturers (dealer supported parts)?

Not all manufactures are as strict as Sthil. In the last few years more Sthil parts have become available through the after-market distributors but without knowing  what you are looking for I cannot check my sources for you.

I am looking for the little plastic part that the gas line connects to. Then the plastic piece connects to a nipple coming out of the carburetor. It has a crack in it and it is leaking gas and sucking air. I am trying to post a picture of it, hopes it works.

Thats not a Sthil part anyway you would have better luck from Walbro who manufactures the carb. Post the numbers off the body of the carb for me and let me see what I can find

The only numbers I can find are: WT K9
45A
This is how it is stamped on the carb body. Now, I did not remove the Carb to do this. Are there any Numbers under the gaskets?
Thanks for all of your help.

No them the numbers i need, but i think that its not available as a separate item. I think I had to gently pry one off of an old carb once to fix the same issue. I will keep looking in a little bit and see what I come up with, or maybe someone else has the item number for that part.

Blake, Any luck yet? Ya gotta love this internet, where the heck else can you find people that have old carbs and can shoot such a detailed picture? Good job on the photo, I still haven't figured out how to do that yet. If MM can't find a part P.M. me, or see if somebody around you doesn't have a pile of used ones they'll let you have. Later

I think I have been around the world three times on this internet trying to find the part. I have shot out a few e-mails to different company's, so maybe I will hear something tomorrow, I mean today. (yea, I guess it is Tuesday now) MM has been real helpful. I was really surprised that people were willing to help me. It just goes to show that there are still some good people in this world. And I appreciate the offer. Don't ya just love this internet, my girl friend hate's it, I think she is jealous.

This looks exactly like a Tanaka part number 495-25130-200. The Tanaka part includes the brass piece that presses into the carburetor. Hope this helps
Yah, Stihl is about the only one that doesnt put any parts breakdowns on the internet.

Still looking. Went to my Stihl dealer yesterday and he said he couldn't get it. So I sent Ordertree a e-mail and they said they didn't carry it and told me to call Stihl. (around and around we go) I know that part is just not used on that one trimmer. I am sure there are thousands of them out there some where, just have to keep looking. They just layed off 40 people where I work, not sure if I am in it or not, I will find out later this week. If I am, I guess I will have plenty of time to find it. Happy Holidays to everyone...And thanks for everyones input...

Hey that's not a bad idea. I'am sure I will be doing some last minute Christmas shopping in Tupelo, so I will put that on the list. It's nice to know I have some close company on here. Thanks

That is the part and would be what you need, if not I have a junk carb plate from a WYJ carb that has that identical 90degree on it. PM me an address and I can stick it in an envelope and send it to ya.

Just buy a new carb. Your time searching for the part has to be worth something.

I did think about it, but it is a 20yr old Trimmer and yes it still runs great. Not sure if I should put 60 dollars into a carb for a trimmer they don't make any more or take that money and put toward a new one that is up to date and that I know I can get parts for. And yes I like to think my time is worth something, but right now I am not working, they just layed off 40 people where I work. Just trying to use all my resources.

Blake, got to thinking, then Ed2 bought up the JB Weld and I have used the resin mix glue and had good luck with it.. Bummer on the lay-off, I was trying to get back on driving and had been talking to these folks, then Monday they said things are so slow, they don't need drivers. Man when trucking companies aren't hiring it's slooow....

JB weld is crossing my mind and I think I may try it. I know all about work being slow, not a good time of the year for it. Hope you find something as I know it can be stressful not bring in any money. Good luck my friend I hope you find something. Merry Christmas.
