I used a service called freightquote.com for getting a piece of equipment (trencher attachment) shipped from Georgia to Alberta. Their price and service were awesome.

Train will be the cheapest. You must be getting one h*ll of a deal if your going all the way to Alabama especially with our dollar being a mexican peso.

The machine is too heavy to be hauled on a step deck and you will pay through the nose for a lowbed. Get it on a train car get it to Ontario.

So what does that work out to in our money ?

Factor in shipping which is going to cost you atleast 5 grand.

You may beable to get the machine on a highboy if you stripped the cab off to keep it down in height. There is some places where the max height is less than 13'6. Most freight companies do have tandem axle step decks but the payload is maxed out at 20 ton.

Finding a Case bulldozer here in B.C. is rarer than a hens tooth.

As for shipping I would say 5 grand is a pretty cheap shipping cost. You figure the distance between Alabama to Ontario Canada.

nobody on here has a clue i reckon...we can take wild guesses but that doesn't mean they are right...

your best bet is to call around to a few companies...that machine weighs around 17,000 if i am not mistaken...won't need and permits, etc...

call local companies to you and also search the web for a few companies..there is a site out there...my mind is blanking right now...but truck drivers will advertise they are dropping a load say in Philadelphia and taking an empty trailer to Dallas Texas...so if you buy something in Philly but live in Dallas you are in luck for a cheap haul...look into that

if i think of the name i will let you know..maybe someone else knows about it

I am hearing that there is zero freight moving in the US right now. Guys are taking whatever loads they can get. I would contact a truck broker. I would give you mine but I doubt it would be as helpful as finding one in your area. They will put out your load for bid and in a couple days your know exactly what it costs. If it weighs around 17K that will fit on step deck. That will save you money. The question I would have is what paperwork do you need to get it into Canada and what does it cost in fees, taxes, and duty if it applies?

Good deal on the dozer, almost half price compared to around here.

You will need to have the machine steam cleaned before you bring it across the border, make sure it is clean or customs will deny entry. If the dozer was made in North America there is no duty under NAFTA, just GST and PST. Hire a Custom broker to do the paper work.

Shipping will be expensive, I was quoted over $5,000 to deliver a 8 ton excavator from Atlanta Georgia to Vancouver BC. You might get it for $1.25 per mile.

Does the dealer know where Ontario is

If the machine only weighs 17,000lbs you could haul that on a tandem axle flatdeck.

That machine weighs around 15K lbs.

I don't see how they can bring it that far for that price... good for you though.

Did you make a deal?

They must have a back haul to Ontario, that price would just cover the fuel cost for the trip.
