View Full Version : Insurance against any more snow falling in Idaho
Well I just bought an insurance policy against another flake of snow falling. I just kicked down for this to go on my 465 HF.
http://www.quick-attach.com/attachments_catalog/?view=quick_snow-away&p=4
I had one in the mid 90's for an 1840 HF. Worked good. I traded for something else as we hit a drought in snow. Last year was a killer snow year and this year is starting out like last, soooo if history is any indication I put an end to having another killer snow year.
I got the 2400XL 85" blower. Plug and play into my skid steer so the shute controls run off my control sticks in the machine. I ran a 73" on a 440 HF in Big Sky and I couldn't believe how impressive it was. I could throw snow at least to the 40' that they said it would and with all that power even taking a full bit the machine never even knew it was working. I am pushing 41 gpm so it should be even better on the 465 than the 440 which was around 35 gpm if I recall.
I am going to Walmart now and see if I can get some flip flops and a lawn chair now that Winter is over.

I sure hope so. The clouds parted and the sun came out as soon as I got off the phone with Quick Attach. Figures.......:dizzy:

I should have bought one of those last year when we had the ice storm and this spring for the floods.

Man oh Man!!! Now that you bought that little blower, there will be NO snow! That's how it works for me anyways.........except........I just checked the weather outlook and we have a major storm coming this weekend down here and they had a special note in there saying it was going to snow up north of us (Idaho) everywhere but the Rigby area where they are expecting warm sunshine :)

yep. Winter's over! :) Seriously, hope you find a good revenue stream.
Do you have to charge sales tax on snow removal?

Well thats the idea. It wasn't a strong enough year to just sit over Winter so we'll see how this goes. We don't have to charge sales tax on services just goods and materials. They have tried to change that and hopefully they never succeed. What a PINA that would be.

tell me about it. None of my competitors charge sales tax but I have to comply since I signed up for when I started my business. I see so many competitors doing the same work that is taxable and they aren't set up for collecting. I hate it. I was curious if something like snow removal was taxable. Seems like a heck of a revenue stream for the state.
I am a bit nervous about winter myself. I had a good month but January looks bleak and we have been in a bad drought which could mean a wet winter and soggy jobsites. I hope not.. I'm already thinking of what else I want to be when I turn 40 in 6 months.

I have been 40 for a couple months now. I said screw it, I refuse to act my age. I am as immature as I have ever been. If your interested the Redskins need a new Offensive line coach. I will put in a good word for you if your interested.

Its high flow, I am also getting the truck loading chute to go with it.
Weather guy says snow and lots of it. Which is the kiss of death almost like me buying a snow blower. It should be here around the 30th.

If it's like my 4-1 bucket they just don't tell you which month of the 30th !!!!!
Still waiting to get it,Called the dealer and he said they shut down the day after i odered it.Hopefully they don't do that with your snow blower.
I know:hammerhead: that what you get when you deal with Bobcat:)
Funny thing was that they was only a few days sending the bolt on cutting edge and bolt on teeth. So the dealer said it won't be long until the bucket would come, because they usual send it shortly after the other stuff.Wrong!
Supposely they started back up and my bucket was on the list to be made(right) the first of this week.
You might want to keep checking with them, never know? With Christmas and holidays, along with the bad weather things might get bogged down.Good luck with you new adventure.Do you have some work lined up or will it just appear when you get the blower?:usflag:

It better be on its way. This is time sensitive. I have some work lined up for it. However I need it to snow some more. I plan on taking it to some of the cities that plow the streets. If it works like I think, I could potentially be very busy. I need the machine to demo it so they know what they are buying and how productive it is.

I'll guess on this then i'm off here.
So the city windrows the snow then you will come along and snowblow it into there trucks and maybe yours .Which would be great.
When season are short ,who know might be a long winter it is starting early again this yea, time is cruticial. What's that old saying"times money":usflag:
