Holy cow, that's like watching the big blowers on the rail roads!
What brand of blower is that. Its not a CAT as they have a paddle type system. I don't recognize the make.

What are your thoughts of the VTS in the snow?

VTS in snow are totaly fine as long as you don't hit Ice or real hard packed snow if you hit those conditions a guy could put those screw studs into the tracks so they bite into the ice & chew it up:hammerhead: As far as flotation we have ran over 3-4 ft deep snow it makes the machine smile to see that amount of snow it just runs over top :cool2:
Totaly satisfied with performance of the VTS but kind of expensive when it comes to replacement parts

That being said i doubt it is more expensive then any other MTL/CTL machines for maintenance as far as the track system is concerned:)

I haven't put them on yet, have to wait for the snow storms to settle down. I can't fit in parking garages to do snow removal with them on (barely fit will tires)
I think they will be a good change. I ran over the tire tracks this year and they were ok but I get into a lot of mud so it will be nice to have a wider track for more float.

I like how much further it sticks out, you can see behind it, Bobcat's is so much more cramped and their's looks like it plugs up more.

Amcat........nice job on the retro-fitting. She sure is a nice thrower.........Question: If you had your choice of any width of snow blowing attachment, how wide would it be and why or why not?

Most Guys here size the blower according to the flow& pressure on the skid
for example most low flow ranges from 16-22 Gallons a minute so 6-61/2 ft blowers seem to match with that & High flow is normally 32-38 Gals a minute so then the 7-8 ft blowers about right to match with that !!!!
To further explain if you have to big a blower for the flow on your skid then you will stall the blower down to quick & the snow moving gets real slow so in other words keeping the blower RPM's up will let you get your snowblowing done Quicker even if the blower is not as wide !!!
So the reason i went with an 8ft blower is i Have the hydraulic flow to handle the blower :cool2:
I imagine brushcutting guys will know what i am talking about !!! that is also a highpower situation !!!

Amcat....I understand the hydraulic part of the equation.....I guess my real question would be: are there advantages/disadvantages that you have encountered with the width of your blower? Would a wider blower be more advantages to access areas or would a narrower blower just over the size of the tires be more advantages? I am thinking of access, small areas, large areas.......the best width for transport........things like that.

Sorry there'' ya the optimum would be probly just 4-6" over the tires each side for restricted areas.
Reason i went large is because i have large barnyard to clear and if there is not much snow it don't take long to get done if there is heavy snow i will just not take full width swath of the blower likly!
