Hello to everyone who reads and posts to this thread..
My name is Michael and I am entering into the lawn maintenance business come the new year. My only question is What is the best book to read on start up etc..I dont want to waste anyones time here asking a million questions that can easily be found by doing my own home work, I have seen a ton of books but I would like to know the best ones.
Thank you to all in advance for your help and look forward to talking to you when I have more knowladge and able to have positive input.

Books??????????
First start off with a business plan and then have some people whos opinion you value read it. A bank officer maybe or some CEO (or equivalent) you know.
If that passes muster, then get info on what the IRS will expect. They even have classes for small business set-up.
Now you can start reading a ton on here. And don't worry, you can ask questions all you want as long as you have tried to researched it first.
Welcome to LawnSite. Whats's your next question?

No business plan..everything is owned out right, I take the funds from my first company and the funds I make on my full time job ( hoping to leave this year ) and buy everything cash. I always value many opinions but a good book will give any new person to any type of business a guide, thats why we went to school..in elemntary school they dont start you off with algebra they start you with adding and subtracting..thats why im looking for a good book to read I want to learn to add and subtract before I go to town with the big boys and do algebra.
thanks for replying so promptly guys I appreciate it.

I'm jealous.
I lived in Florida for 7 years, then I have been living in New York for last 15 years. I have not been back since. Each day that passes, I grow more longing to visit or maybe even move back to Florida. I lived in the St. Pete/Tampa area. I did live in Boca Raton for about a year. Expensive but really nice. It was really weird seeing the sun come up on the ocean instead of setting on it like I was used to.
I have a lot of fond memories of Florida and a bunch of bad one's. I got into a lot of trouble when I was down there. But I was young and on my own for the first time and boy did I act like it. Moving was probably a very smart thing for me, maturity-wise.
I miss all the water and all the great seafood restaurants. But I don't miss taking 45 minutes to get 5 miles down the road. There is a light on every corner and they are all red. Yuck. Come to think of if, I should probably visit first before making any commitments. Ha ha.
