Are you sure it wasn't intended to be a Yard Sign? That's way too big, I'm not even sure it would pass mailing regulations, if it did it would cost waaaay tooo much to mail each peice.
LOL, try mailing out 20,000 @ $1.00 or more each peice, you do the math, LOL!

I'm guessing it would have to be folded over and sealed to be mailed or even fit into standard boxes.. Honestly for me when I get any kind of mail that is sealed like that which folds open I normally simply toss before even looking at.
This seems like way to much to me for a service, heck your not have a furniture sale or something.

That's about the same size as many magazines... And being the largest piece of mail in the box is bound to be noticed. Yeah, it may be a bit long for small mailboxes, but otherwise I don't think so.

Well, if you have this in your advertising budget, I'd say go for it, the postage alone with be $6,000., and printing costs in full color both sides for something that size??? Minimum $1/each, so you'd be up to $26,000 so far, LOL!

so $5800 just for the fliers and on top of that your mailing cost..
When I say being to big guess I am saying why also for that size? You can still to and add plenty on a normal size that gets across everything about your business and still have room for coupons etc. Bigger is not always better

What about your mailing list, did it come from them? What criteria are you considering for this mailing list?
Is their price .29/each including the mailing list?
What kind of coupons are you including on these cards?

Wright so did you ever do this?
Something is not adding up here. When you say $6000 out the door does that include printing, postage, and the list? That comes out to $0.30 per piece which is incredibly cheap.
I have done direct mail before and was printing and mailing postcards at about $0.27 per piece. That was for the bulk mailing rate. It seems to me that your project would cost significantly more to print and to mail.

What is the minimum number of postcars/flyers for bulk mailing. If I mailed 20000 it would have to be to the entire north end of the state. The 3 cities I service total only about 5000 people and they tell me thats not enough to bulk mail.
Sorry, didn't mean to highjack the thread but the question seemed to fit the discussion

I am thinking of doing direct mail this spring and I think the bigger it is the more people will see it. So lets say you don't have to send it out 3 times to get people to look at it but sending it once does the trick. So it may cost less due to sending less. But I am not sure how big is too big.
