We had comparable damage in NW Indiana. I have several trees down and a bunch of huge limbs. We were out of power for 12 hrs. Bad stuff. I am in the market for the best Stihl Chainsaw for my price range now lol.

you want a 80' oak to drop on your house? Loss of power for a week? No heat and frozend/exploded pipes. Thats all he meant. The way he said it was funny. Chill out. And believe me you dont want that stuff down there. Were looking to escape it to go south. This is from today. Stopped for a coffee at the house.

you wish something bad would happen so you can make "good money" ? what a pathetic statement.... how about a tornado knocks your house down, can i come clean up your yard and make "good money"? ice storms are devastating, and people die from accidents, downed wires, and having no heat in their homes, but hey, you can make money!

Yeah, sorry, But I'm not "hoping for another ice storm"! We lived thru that here just last December... It was like Hell, only FROZEN. Sure people made "good money" cleaning things up, I made money too, but I'd frankly rather NOT. Not when the damage that an ice storm causes is so devastating, and the damage can still be seen for years. Our city alone lost nearly 1,000 trees just on city property, not counting the thousands that were removed on private properties that were too damaged to stay. I personally had to have 2 trees removed and the other 2 in my back yard need to come out because there's just not enough of them left to even be classified as "shade trees".
Not saying that an ice storm is "the most destructive thing". because it really pales in comparison to a large tornado or a hurricane (for those down southeast). But The damage they do, not only to trees and property, but also power lines, phone, and cable, is just unbelievable. I was w/o power for only 3 days (and own a generator thank god), but my neghibors, both houses to the west of me, were out for nearly a week because a tree fell and took out the pole between the two homes, ripped the service right off the houses too. Power was restored starting with the most effected homes down to the least, so if you were ONE on your block w/o power you were last on the list! Power companies from something like 8 states came in and worked for over a month getting things up and going again.
No, I don't want an ice storm so I can make some money...

We had 1" of freezing rain in KY about 5 years ago. Looked like a war zone.
Trees would break with no warning, very eerie.
Hope it never happens again.

Have a read lawn freak, I know you made a dumb comment but not to worry, cause unless you lived thru it you'd never know. I was without power for 2 weeks, my father in law had a heart attack from doing voluntary work of distributing firewood. There are books about this "great one".
