Want to get back into the business. Wife drives truck full time bringing in 3 to 3.5K month. I go to college full time and perform internships in the summer.
I plan on using my internship money for advertizing and buying equipment, While the wifes' truck driving job pays for a new or used truck.
What are some of your thaught fellow professionals?

Sounds like a good business plan. What size yards do you do? by knowing this info i might be able to guide you in the right direction for equipment. How much money will you have available for equipment? look forward to helping.

Far as equipment, I have that covered. I was looking on advice far as getting the 2nd truck. I plan on getting both trucks fully lettered but not looking busy. If I have to paint the new truck to my color specs, (like white if truck is black) Would I legally be able to do so, if still making payments?

I was also thinking on using a 1800 number later on when I start getting money in. I would like to become atleast regionalized. Maybe franchise my name out there? The only draw back is that I will have to make them Quality work, which means that I check out there jobs and if quality don't make expectations, I would be able to take away thier franchise rights.

ya i honestly do not know about the truck but i would think if it has been signed over to you then it is legally yours so you should be able to do whatever you want to it. i do know that it is much easier in my opinion to just use your cellphone # or get a new phone line but i would not get into all the 1800 # crap you have to go through. what equipment do you have?

I sold the previous: my 6'.5"X12' Open Trailer and 52" WB Exmark.
I plan on buying another trailer in March, While doing internships, put equipment in Lay away 1 at a time.
I also plan on buying: 48'' ZTR, 52" WB and a 21" or the Exmark 26" push mower. Brands? Toro or Exmark. I am thinking of instead the 21 or 26", go with the 36" WB. Trailer? 14' or 16' Tandem Axle.

tht will be a nice setup and i think if you do go with the 36" wb you should also get a 21" commercial.jmo. also i am personally not a fan of the toro ztrs so if it were me i would look at scag they make great ones. as far as wb brands i would look at scag or exmark jmo. they are both great. let me know what you decide. thanks

You might want to concentrate on the college work for the time being ... the word "thaught" is spelled "thought" !!

Sorry on the spelling. Heck, I'm at Kent State University. Yes! I do plan on concentrating on my college course work. I was thinking on doing business on weekends since the people I plan on doing my internship don't work weekends, that I know of. The Pattie Group 1st and 2nd internship, Enviroscapes my 3rd, and 4th.
