I'm getting some more work clothes done with the company name on them and a logo.

Jeff, what do yall do? underground utilities?

jefftb

Yep, utility infrastructure, everything for the utility market except roads. We build roads only as minor parts of projects. Not just limited to underground-we work in water and wastewater plants as well.

I will second the opinion about the t-shirts, Dirtman. It's really hard to read- the font is a bit busy. But I really like the embroidery on the jackets!

So, anything to do with utilities? Even overheard?

I got my jacket on video, so as soon as I figure the freakn program out, I'll have it posted on youtube...

Overhead, as in primary high voltage? Right now I'm not licensed to install high voltage over head. We can set poles and run secondary voltage overhead but that would be rare for most jobs.

GreenGuys,

Just a small suggestion. I would not have any name or on both sides of your logo. In your example you have lettering above and below the symbol.

The logo symbol "pops" more if you let it stand by itself. I'd either put all lettering below the logo symbol or to the side. In the one shown I'd set Green Guys below the symbol in a larger font and set the word landscapes below that in a slightly smaller font and adjust the letter spacing to justify the letters on both sides. Set the tag line at a level slightly below the word landscapes.

Another note on logo design, make sure you get several versions of your logo with lettering to the side, logo without lettering (just the symbol) because you will certainly have uses for it all if you are successful moving forward. Also, a well designed logo should be reliably reproducible in all mediums and colors. Will it look good in black and white is usually the definitive test.

Remember some of those dot.com logo's of the early 2000's? They were all but incomprehensible in anything but their vivid colors. A good example would be a logo with several different shades of green or blue adjacent to one another. There is almost no way you can reproduce that in black and white.

I really like the leaf it will be easy to reproduce on just about everything.

That's fantastic advice and makes complete sense. I actually have that done on my invoice with the lettering to the side and I went back and looked at it and I could see what your talking about. Again I appreciate your help and ill post some more example when I finish the new ones.
