The stone is called mountain laurel, and is easier to work with than some of the other flat stones. Little or no waste in the skids. Not a cheap stone though. Finished off w/ a small planting.

You know your outdoor lights. Tried to take night pics at several jobs , but my camera takes the worst night pics. Maybe a bad setting.

That i do. Its my passion in life. One thing i woulda done different is used a wash light on that weeping ugly tree thing. Other than that i bet it looks pretty good at night.
What kinda camera? Also having a tripod is a must. How do you like cast?

Twitchy, I need a brief education; How do you build these walls? Do they have a footer? How do they "hold" together? (Are they built like SRWs, drainage, grid, ect?) What keeps the weight behind the wall from pushing the wall out?

I have no problems w/ the Cast lights so far. Customers give me a crazy look when i tell them how much they cost though. Come on, that weeping blue atlas isn't ugly... Ah whatta you know your a lighting guy. LOL

On a higher wall like this i did dig a footing w/ tamped rca and buried a coarse. Also use a light sand motar mix to keep stones level and to bond them together. Don't go over kill w/the motar though, because you want the wall to breathe. (water pressure release) I use 2 way fabric to separate the 3/4 clean gravel and exsisting soil. No geo grid is needed on a small wall like this. Here on long island we generally have good soil( sand, top soil, clay mix), your wall contruction may be different to adapt to your soil. I hope this helps.

No i have'nt sold the bobcat yet, i think i'm gonna just trade it in. The dealership sent me a written proposal w / everything that i want (combo bucket, tracks etc). I've spent alot of money with them already and feel like i should get something for free damnit. I'll take a radio($400)or extended warranty ($375). Is the bikini girl your wife or daughter... HEY NOW!

HEY NOW, that's funny you say that. It's one of the chicks from 12 boobs for christmas on bubba's show. Good luck with your bobcat situation. I wish I could get it, but no ones spendin any green around here. I havn't done a patio or any hard projects in 3 months.:hammerhead::dizzy:

It's been over 2yrs and everything really took off, had only one problem though. The variegated dogwood died and was replaced w/ a coral bark maple, very nice.
