One of our guys was plowing his girlfriends backyard to do some work on an addition and she failed to mention there was a hole where the bulkhead was...it was covered by plywood...he drove over it and luckily it was nothing serious...made for a good laugh...the truck was hovering over the hole
The hole is approx 8ft deep...the pics don't do it much justice...:hammerhead:

I was doing some work filling the old foundation hole of a really old home on my property with a backhoe once and i looked down in between the front and back tire there was just darkness. really scary because i didn't know how big the hole was. luckily it just turned out to be an old cistern that was about 7 feet deep. grass and plants had grown over the roughly 3 x 3 foot hole that opened into an approximately 6 ft diameter cistern.

When you have a foundation...the bulkhead gives you access to the basement from the outside of the house...here's a pic...its that ugly thing painted bright red on the back of the house
While it's up ill put the after pic of the patio...

Oh, see in Ohio, we never did anything like that, just put a regular door in, and then put steps out from the door, so wierd red thing like that..

Believe it or not we just threw a chain on the back and pulled it out with another truck...it was like hovering over the hole...but the other front tire was on solid ground...didn't really fall in...no damage at all...just made for some good pics

If you look at the pics closely, the bulkhead only goes to right about where the frame is, its not all the way accross so the truck still had 3 wheels on the ground plus plow. You are lucky though. And here they do walk out basement or steps up.
