It is a limited print on canvas, all framed up for her. The artist lives a short distance from my home. I got her a painting by him of the resurrected Lord appearing to Mary, I was able to meet him, and got him to write her a note on the back and sign it for her. She loved it. I know she has had her eye on this one for a while.

First off, my wife loved the painting. :clapping::clapping: I also got her some jewelry (always good) and some books and clothes.

I made out like a bandit! My wife usually gets me stuff that is more, stuff she wants me to want, than stuff I would actually want. Preppy clothes, stuff that just isn't me. This year she did really good. She got me a new digital camera with a 3 yr full replacement warranty! I go through digital cameras at a rate of 1/yr. I always carry them in my pockets and manage to break them, or my kids do. I have been without one since I broke mine in Israel. She got me a Shiatsu back massager. IIII aaaammm ssiittttiinnggg innn iiitttt nnoowwww. She also got me some clothes that I will actually wear, and an external drive for my laptop, which is good.

well I did pretty good. My parents gave my wife, daughter and myself $500. Gave me some new Carhartt jeans and work shirts plus a new pair of boots. The best gift to me though was seeing my little girl wake up to her new doll house that she'd been talking about since Thanksgiving. She's two, but this was really the first year that she's had some understanding of Christmas and Santa. IT's just been so much fun watching her eyes light up when we'd plug the Christmas tree in.

I got a skeet thrower, a case of skeets, and a case of shotgun shells. That'll be fun! I'll try to get a pic of the thrower tomorrow. It's a pretty nice one that has a seat on it and it can slide into a hitch receiver on a pickup, or just stand on 4 legs.

One of my customers sent me a Christmas card with a $100 gas card from Shell. Got to love that.

WOW..Big purchase there!! Didn't anyone tell you that the economy is in the tank? I know that the economy is in the tank. The reason I know this is there are rediculous deals out there on EVERYTHING. You just have to be patient. I couldn't pass this deal up. Bank would loan $25000 on camper and I didin't pay nowhere near half of that for it. I bought it from an elderly man that never used it. He purchased it in may of 2008. Long story short. He sold it due to health reasons. I called over to Tom Johnson's Camping in North Carolina and acted like I was looking to buy an 08 Keystone camper. I gave him all the options this one had. He told me that I could have one for "dealer price" only $ 24,035.00. When I purchased it I took it buy local dealer and could have sold it for a $ 3000.00 profit. So I think I did well. We have been looking for abou 6 years for a great deal on a camper, so its not like we just jumped off the wagon and grabbed the first thing we found. But this was something I just couldn't pass up.

Here is a late Christmas present to myself. I just went to pick it up yesterday.

180 gallon acyrlic aqaurium. I'm getting ready to get started building the stand/canopy for it. I'm making it out of Corian countertop. It should turn out sweet. Expensive hobby:hammerhead:

I've had aquariums for years and I've always stayed away from salt just becuase I don't always have a ton of time to keep up with the strict maintenance.

I haven't decided what I want to do with this yet, but I got a great deal on it. The guy let me have it brand new, still wrapped in platic for $475:drinkup:

This may be my first salt...

Holy Sh*** you stole that. Like literally call the cops lol.... thats close too a $1000 tank here. Great find. Awesome tank and just read. I think i have read more about aquariums and salt water then i have studied for school. Go slow and you can build that into a beautiful reef with little problems and maintance and cheaper then doing it all at once. Let me know if you need any info of help i got live sand and live rock too i was going to raise/ grow it for a small business but never did.

Thanks a lot.

I found it at two places online and one was for $1007 and th other was like $1350. Locally it would be at least $1500 after taxes. I found it on craigslist BTW.

12-31-2008, 04:39 PM
well i would encourage the salt route you can really set it up to only feed it and maybe clean once every month. If not i dunno if there legal where you live but you can get freshwater stingrays. They look amazing you can touch them and hand feed them and require little setup.

GravelyGuy
12-31-2008, 04:45 PM
