We had purchased the billygoat finish mower about 3 years ago, we needed a mower fast so our mechanic recommended us the billygoat. Since day 1 it is very hard to pull the cord, first couple of times it kickbacks and almost pulls your arm off. We will be replacing it for the 6 X on Monday. Please I need suggestions

As M/M posted more info would be helpful.....
Also, Can you explain in other words what a "starter coil" is/what it does ?

It's a guess, but I presume you are talking about the recoil start assembly. Do as Oldtimer says. Pull the flywheel and check for a sheared/partially sheared flywheel key if indeed the rope is being ripped out of your hand. If the flywheel key is sheared you may also want to check for a bent crank as well(provided this is a typical 21" push/sp mower. Model/engine number would be helpful.

I didn’t know Billy Goat made a finish mower, just a Brush cutter and weed mower. I suppose they classify their “weed mower” as a finish mower.
Sounds like good advice from the other guys.
However, in general, I would check the valve clearance as well.
I would say a loose blade…but, I don’t think its direct drive, Just belt driven. Good luck.

my billygoat has a 13.0 h.p. briggs&stratton intek ohv manual start, it sucks my arm out of the socket feels like the 2 teeth if you want to call it in the flywheel seems to break off and the rope stays all out. Replaced 5 times. Any suggestions.

It is not the same as the weed mower. It is classified as the Billygoat 33' finish mower.

Adjust the valves first!
IF you have too much valve lash, the compression release doesn't work!
