knock on wood, the economy really hasnt hit us yet. and its been a record year for xmas bonous/gifts from customers, ive had several $100 gifts and many in the $25-$50 range. anyone else lucky and or doing quality work at resonable rates to warrant these gifts?

so far my tally for Christmas bonuses from customers is $500 cash and about $200 worth of resturant gift cards. it makes me feel appreciated and lets me know im not just a lawn guy to my customers.

I got a couple hundred bucks this year but I still have quite a bit out from late payers this month. I would rather have that.

I thought it was something French...."Bonous Custers"
Sounds French to me.
Back on topic, it seems generally speaking, the guys that make out on Xmas 'bonouses' seem to live in FL or way down south where they are still seeing their customers on a regular basis.

I found the bigger the company got, the less you would see anything for the holidays....At least being the owner.
When you transform from the "lawn guy" to the "lawn company"....It seems the customers view changes.

None. I contract and would never think of getting a tip let alone from a holiday.

I got $20 from one customer, a $25 gift card from another, and a holiday basket w/ a bunch of goodies from our dealer. Better than last year when I got $30 from one customer.

I got a Christmas card from one of my customers with a $100 Shell fuel card in it. That was really nice. Another customer gave me a $30 gift card to McAlister's restaurant after I found his wedding ring in his driveway. He said he's had that ring for over 50 years and his wife died a couple years ago, so it was really important to him.

This was a banner year, $700.00 bucks plus 2 boxes of fancy pears, and a gift basket from the local store. Usually I only get $100.00 check from one of my long time customers.

No bonuses this year, but then again I don't expect them with the way the economy is.
