dry well

can anyone give me any info on a dry well? a customer of mine has a property that sits down lower than her neighbors, and she gets flooded when it rains. rather than running pipe to the street which involves cutting thru the curb, can i just run it into a dry well somewhere on the property?

I think dry wells are a good idea and they should be used more. Go tohttp://www.flowell.com . They have an easy to assemble product. Also, an infiltrator may work. These are being used in leach bed lines now and they hold quite a bit of water. If there is shallow bedrock or the digging is tough, this might be another option.
