The dobie is just over a year old now. Her B-day is Nov. 2nd. She is a blue doberman.

The pittie we rescued from the pound, they took her from some1 who had cut her ears off with scissors and she had a terrible infection.

I don't own one, but my cousin owns one, one of the best dogs i've ever encountered, he's a lap dog, the other day he jumped on top of me and started licking and slobbering all over my face. If somebody were to break into their house, that pit bull would hold the door open while the robbers carried stuff out of the house.

The dobbie is a beautifull dog and it is ashame how people treat pitbulls and then people wonder why these dogs are mean.

i had pit named shadow for about 3years. he was killed while we were hunting 2years ago.
We were rabbit hunting and he came toe to toe wit a 300pound hog. the hog charged towards me and Shadow tried to stop him. hog hit him in the throat wit a tusk. shadow was hurt pretty bad and i had to put him down. I shot and killed the hog eventualy.

I still miss him to this day. i'll try to find a pic of him!

Blues and fawns (dobies) are notorious for coat problems! I feed Sasha fish oil tablets (1 a day) and really its more luck that she has a good coat. Have you ever heard of dobermantalk.com. Lots of good info there.

the only problem with pit bulls are that they are more of a hyper dog, you take them for a walk on a dirt road durring the winter, they get going, they will pull you down and drag you. I'd rather have an english bull dog.

Don't really have that problem with my dog he knows when its time to play and when its time to be calm.

This is my cockeyed b_itch.

Her name is Molly and I adopted her from the Animal Protective League. She is a 5 year old pittbull mix

She was a "red dog" meaning they didnt trust her around other dogs and humans.

The League shows dogs every week at my brothers work which is a hard ware store. The store serves hot dogs and is near my house so I will sometimes go have lunch with my brother.

I went 3 Saturdays in a row and saw her each time. They always kept her separated from the other dogs and of course the lady claimed she didnt like men. The ladies that volunteer at the shelter mean well, but they say every dog is afraid of men just because they are themselves. I could see her ribs and tell she was not eating well. They said they had her for 2 years and no one would take her cause she was a "red dog'.

So of course I fell in love with the cockeyed b_itch and adopted her.

She has gained weight since coming home with me. She also gets along with my dad and sister's 6 dogs between them just fine. But she is the most alpha female I have ever seen. She hikes her leg and marks her territory when I walk her. It is absolutely the end of the world if another dog, squirrel, cat, rabbit, or person is outside my house and she can see them. But she has absolutely no food aggression and is super gentle when I give her treats. She even knows how to shake, and will always sit on command. She has never messed in the house once.

She is a very calm relaxed dog that is not very needy. She likes to be in the same room as I am but she is not one of those dogs that tries to mug you for attention. I cant stand that in dogs. She is a very loyal and loving dog.

She makes a great companion for a confirmed bachelor like myself.

Boomer looks just like Brutus my old 3/4 boxer, 1/8 pit, 1/8 lab (85 pounder at biggest, got hit by a car in the neighborhood). He was the most athletic dog I've ever had and truly was as wild as they come at times. It's good to see someone else with such a similar dog, I know you must be enjoying him. The portrait lookin pic is Bru at his biggest, we miss him!

That color is really cool. The first pic color is just a lil 'bluer' if you will, than the second pic, on my comp. neways. the first pic the color looks like a Wieminriemers color. Very nice.

I posted pics of my white boxer in previous post on this thread, i see you have your dog a sweater. My boxers approx 85-90lbs i havent found any places to get sweaters for thick chested dogs ?? not around NW GA anyways ... ne help ??

You may be right. His dad was blue brindle and his mom was red-nosed and light brown. He doesn't look like your typical brown brindle tho, he has blue coloration as well. If I had to choose one or the other I would probably say that he is more of a brown brindle tho. Thanks for the help!

I never found anything for Brutus, the 85 pound boxer mix, either. Chevy only weighs about 55 pounds and just barely makes the biggest size sweater I've seen which is like a 20-24" length. Good luck with the big boy, like i said i never found any for mine. My gf is always on the hunt for sweaters ha, that one is an U of Alabama sweater, not my fav.

Here are my two. Sasha is the brindle pit bull, she is almost 4 years old and is a complete sweetheart. Flip is the fawn colored mix, he is almost 5 years old. He was found abandoned by a firefighter in Indianapolis when he was a puppy. I am not sure what all besides pit bull he is mixed with but he can jump higher than any dog I have ever seen. These are my two, couch-potatoes, aka guard dogs.

I dont have any problems with pitts. I had german shepherds growing up and I absolutely love them. They are by far my favorite breed. After I got my own house I for a short time had a young black lab that was kind of foisted on me. He bounced off the walls 24/7 and had separation anxiety real bad - the damn dog ate a hole into the middle of my wall then did it again in a different spot. I quickly found him a new home with semi retired folks that had another pup for him to play with. After the nightmare that was him I swore I would never get any other dog but a shepherd. Then of course a few years later I see Molly my pittbull mix and broke my promise to myself, but me and her make a good pair. I still want a shepherd real bad just because I love their personality. My parents just adopted a young blond shepherd they rescued. He and their older long haired shepherd make quite a pair. He is a complete sweet heart, and makes me want a shepherd even more. Of course it only lasts till its time to clean house then Im bitching about the fur being shed just from my one dog lol.

Cats are great too dude, I had one on my progression to dogs as I grew up. She's actually still at my parents house, she's about 15 I guess ha. probably outlive my dog still though! She lives in their basement of their new place (which I always felt bad about) but she evidently loves it. I only come home about twice a year and even with all the other people that come including my siblings my parents tell me that I'm the only one whose voice she meows for...how's that for a memory? I love Pits and Rotties I just wish my wife would let me get one or the other!

There was a guy who brought a Rot into one of my off campus night classes for college, that dog just sat there, didn't make a sound, then she'd get up and walk up front to the teacher, she'd pet her, and then she'd walk around and came and sat next to me, and I started petting her, and she laid down, and I rubbed her belly. That dog was so cool.
