I do!
I invest (remember SAVERS ARE LOSERS) by using an automatic deduction from my teacher paycheck (about 200 a pay right now) and putting it into a fidelity investment portfolio which I manage myself. I also will have a nice teacher retirement after 30 years of about 62 percent of my final average salary till I die!
Most smart investors try to put in 10 to 20 percent of their gross. If your young invest in mutual funds, if your older you may want more stability like bond funds.
403B: Fidelity value fund, I think the ticker is FDVLX and a few Fidelity oversea funds and some stable domestic blue chip funds. Not sure of the exact funds.
This year I will also buy an IRA fund from my tax returns.

Steiner says " (remember SAVERS ARE LOSERS) " and ends his message with "This year I will also buy an IRA fund from my tax returns. "
Worried about his investing, yet gives the government a no interest loan.
A saver makes more off his money than someone loaning money at 0%.

I don't get a huge tax return, I follow all the financial advice and try to keep it +/- 1000 dollars, just like my CPA advises.
Didn't like that Savers are losers comment did you Steve?

Ok, I have a SEP Plan (Simplified Employee Pension) it is like a 401k plan suitable for single person and small businesses. I am allowed to put in a certain percentage of my income which I do every year. It was mostly in mutual funds (which lost 36 percent like everyone else), but 30 percent was in money market or savings acts(those were ok, but don't earn much interest).
I am a little discouraged because we talked to the money manager expert at the bank when we set this up. I guess he was not an expert as he didn't see this downturn coming. But he was a good salesman because he got commission on the funds he sold us. And the fund still gets 1.5 percent whether we win or lose.
I am thinking about going to a fee-based investment advisor (so i don't have to listen to the sales pitches--and so I can get no load funds). Also considering an index fund, the annual expenses are one-tenth of regular managed funds.
