Well, got a call from one of my guys after doing some cleanups (happened a few weeks ago, just getting to postin the pics now) that the truck was stuck in the mud, that it was! Tires are pretty low on this truck anyway but it had rained and he tried to back up with the enclosed trailer on the back, just a bad spot. About 3 inches between a fence and the front of the truck. Had to use his new truck, the grey Dodge, to slide the trailer off the back.

We then tried to pull the dump with the dodge but the 13k empty beast was dug in. Pulled the Freightliner up to the back, chained it and dropped it into low and away we went. Will be getting some gravel and drainage in there come spring. Probably would have been fine with newer tires, these are real bad

Maybe it is just me but it looked like you could have just rocked it out. The tires weren't even that far down in the mud. But yet again I'm sure it's only 2 wheel drive and thats alot of weight to be pushing down on the ground.

yea 24 valve cummins. Nice truck he just got it. Well the truck is a 2 wheel drive its on a slight slope down ward, its very wet and muddy and the tires have about 1/4 inch of tread left, running em down at the end of the season, getting new tires in the spring. We tried rocking it and all but as you can see the tires just spun in the mud

its a sharp truck....I'm really digging the 4500 now that I look at it again....strobes and rear work lights already setup, put a nice 9' plow and I'd be good to go...we'll see.

Some people seem to think that truck isn't stuck. In a 2wd heavy mug like that, just having the tires slicked over with sogged clay is stuck. Believe me.

that ain't mud...thats just the inconvenience of a 2 wheel drive truck, might have been able to pull out the fence rails and go down in and turn around if that darn post wasn't in the way

thats the problem with this time of year here in the Mid-Atlantic, the top inch or so melts and thaws out and you are left with a gooey mess...yet the underlying ground is still alittle frozen so you can't get any traction on it...

thats what happened to this truck...got going up the hill and slid down sideways, not trying to hi-jack but this is a stuck Chevy HAHA

HAHA that is most certainly mud, yep thought of the fence idea too lol. Thought of everything but good old fashion diesel muscle and a bit of brains was all we needed here lol

Love that truck, has had some electrical problems however but when its workin its a great truck. Will be looking at another one soon. All my trucks are setup like that with the lights. There are 2 flood lights on each of the steps as well on the side of the truck

Yes most any dump truck sucks in the mud unless its a 4x4!

Yea, if it had better tread and some weight on it we would have had a better shot but oh well, wasnt too bad. Had to wait for the foot of snow to melt first lol

I've gotten my truck stuck, or almost stuck, twice in the past couple of weeks. One time, I was backing the trailer through a little hole between a big shrub and a pile of brush. My truck got off the driveway a little bit and the front right tire got down in a ditch or something. I had a guy with me, so he got out and pushed against the front fender to help the front end out. I probably had enough traction to back out, but there were 2 trees within 1-2 inches of the truck and it was wanting to slide towards them anyway. Got the truck and trailer out of that, and the trailer was backed into a field. I put the truck in drive to pull out onto the driveway and the back end just did a little sideways dance. I was facing uphill, so I just kept backing downhill and turning so that when I put it back in drive, I was facing downhill. Got out of that without a second truck, but I was none too confident.

Last week, my brother left his keyswitch on and ran his batteries down. I tried to pull around to the front of his truck so we could both batteries up with jumper cables (both are Cummins diesels with 2 batteries). I had to pull through the garden and the truck just sank. Good thing we were right behind the shop and had the Case DX35 and a chain handy to get me out of that. Four wheel drive is definitely on my criteria list for my next truck. I actually saw a 1996 Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4 long bed club cab in town for sale today. Stopped and looked at it and it was a nice truck, but I would lose way too much equity in my truck to trade right now.

unfortunately it happened to me on my final day of fall cleanups, on nearly flat ground of all things, just enough thaw of the frost and it was a skating rink.soupy mud caked the tires and i was pissed. f550 with bald tires didnt help, and a full load of wet leaves to boot
