I think I need one of those as well, legally... If I recall, anything with a width over 8' needs a center marker light. My trailer just never came with one, and ~8 years later, still dosn't have one... I'm finally upgrading the rear lights to LED. Not going to be a lot of fun, all my wiring is getting tight because of the number of times I've had to replace the fixtures on the back. Why can't they use screw terminals? Have to cut and splice everytime... PITA with heat-shrink tubing everywhere.

Last winter I rewired my entire trailer with L.E.D and a 7-Pin plug. That is the only light I didn't replace with L.E.D., I thought about putting one on like Micah had on his 6x12. That looked good.

My center rear in smashed, where did you pick that up at that price?
Thanks everyone, I will take a picture of it tonight, I did the same replaced all lights with LED's, even added some at the fenders so I would be able to see it them at night, except did not know what to do with this one.....
I cut a piece of angle 16'' and centered the LED, it came with two clips, but between them I added some 3M tape, the black piece to the left is a piece of shrink tube I added to further protect the wire.....(cheap loom)
LED's are the BOMB, I need to start replacing all the ones on my Tacoma....:)

Love Harbor Freight! As long as you look closely at what you are buying you *can* find quality stuff there for cheap, but you can also get taken there, they mix over priced stuff in with the cheap, because everyone thinks that everything there is a bargin. Then they sell a lot of stuff that's just plain crap :dizzy:
Hope you can see these..flash screwed some of them..

The night pics look awesome. Stupid question...is that easy to do or is it very detailed, because I'm not the handiest guy around.
Piece of cake:
1.Got the light.
2.Cut a piece of angle iron I had, to add proctection, used a hacksaw.
3.Drilled 4 holes, 2 small ones for the clips that came with the lights, 2 for the bracket. Also drilled an extra hole for the wire/light.
4.Painted the bracket
5.Mounted the light, also used 3M tape to really secure it/between the clips. Up to you if you want to use.
6.Mounted to the trailer and wired to the existing wire, and attached a ground wire.
7.Soldered it all, and used liquid electrcial tape-great stuff.
8.Tested it out, done.
Took abour 1.5 hours, waiting on the paint to dry took the longest...

Are they the ones for the wide trailers? (have the side marker lens that sticks out about an inch).
I don't know what the legal reason is, (DOT B.S.) but I know that the ones with the flat side light cover are labled "for trailers under 80in. wide only." For trailers up to 102" outside you are supposed to use the ones with the side lens that sticks out. Of course you are also supposed to have the center marker light bar on a trailer over 80" as well... Maybe adding the center marker bar would mean that the tail lights don't have to have the different marker lens?

This thing will stay, the angle iron protects it better than my side LED, with got hit with a rock off the wheel, I just replaced the lense.
I might mak some new angle brackets for those as well..
I will keep you update on how it holds out
