Our mowing season does not start until mid-late april, and there is alot of snow on the ground up here. Do any of you guys in this situation have any luck trying to sell lawn care this early in the year? I usually wait until maarch 1 or so, but I am not sure if I will be wasting my time if I start this year. I am talking about cold calling commercial accounts.

Never too early, even if they dont want to talk with you now. When you call back closer to spring you can let them know you called back in jan and you are just following up...with them most manager enjoy being called upon

In my area, I've noticed it's not worth it until about late February...most people are not thinking about their lawns when there is snow on the ground. Once the weather starts to break and I get a few warm days that's when I hit it hard. On the other hand, I guess it can't hurt. You would still be getting your name out there.

Yes, too early. March is earliest that the flyers start, well, flying.
