The Directv guy decided it would be best for him to park his van in my yard instead of pulling in the street and walking. I guess it was too far.......Anyway now I have deep tire tracks in my yard.
Bermuda sod-put in 6 months ago. Any suggestions on how to get them out?

try using a pitchfork and working the low spots level, by inserting it around the grass thats lower and pushing it up. it may not be the best solution though. maybe somebody else has a better solution.

After the pitchfork thing, fill what is left of the tracks with clean loose sand until level. Grass will grow through and over th sand pretty quickly. We do this all the time at commercial properties where semi's have cut a corner too short.:)

Details on rut repair in my reply in <a href="http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5273">THIS THREAD</a>.
Was for cool season turf, but procedure is good anywhere. And use a digging fork, not a pitchfork. And don't worry about perfection in appearance, just get it flat. Your grass will grow back in a few weeks, and you'll never know that you had the ruts then.

Better yet,
Call a couple of you competitors and get some estimates (this will give you some insight into their charges) then summit the estimates to DirecTv. Keep the money and do the work yourself!

I did this once with a cable TV company in Phoenix, Az. I had a dwarf tiff green lawn. Dwarf tiff green lawn's are a hybrid bermudagrass and are sterile. Can't be grown from seed. Only sod or stolons. Cable guy comes to my door and says he has repaired the damage to my lawn. I say "OK, lets take a look". We walk over to the damaged area & I see bare soil. I asked the cable guy how'd he repair the lawn? He tells me me used seed! I asked him: "What type of seed did you use? There are no seeds for dwarf tiff." He tells me: "It must be good stuff, the bag says premium on it." I called my city coucil rep, got an estimate, did the job myself and sent the bill to the cable company.

Once I was mowing a commercial account and ran over a steel rod that had fallen off a cable truck. Cable office was just down the road from where I was working. Man I was pi$$ed. Talked to the supervisor and explained what had happened. Said they would pay for any damages. Decided it was time for new blades so I showed him the invoice and paid me cash on the spot. Now that i look back on it, maybe I should've replaced the engine why I was at it.

Last year I ran over a cable in one of the commercial accounts I was mowing. It was a heavy guage steel cable that the cable CO. had left behind. It was layed out across the yard and I didn't see it. Anywayz...it manageds to bend! all three blades, ruin a deck spindle and a blade drive cluch. The cluch and the spindle were about gone before the incident but I got an estimate from my eq dealer and submitted it to the cable co. No Questions asked the paid $480.00 in damages. They were very friendly about it. I took the money and fixed it myself. This goes to show you they will probably be understanding if you just call them up and have a friendly chat about what happened. Good luck!
