Just hit the buy it now button then your done, might call him and see what kind of trade deal on the skid he wants(use you Case saleman talk:weightlifter:) through in the 9020B.
How does that machine compare in size to your 9020B? Sorry 2 cents all i have left from last year:cry:.Would be nice tho!:usflag:

I was afraid of that, broke after Christmas.
It does not have the reach of my machine but I would overcome and adapt. I never thought of trading him my 9020B. I would be hard pressed to trade him a skid steer. I wish I had 100K laying in the weeds somewhere. Where is QPS? I'll bet he will give me a loan.
I am not so sure I like your terms Jr. How about you give me 50% of the purchase price and every Summer you can come out and run it for a day and then take your ass back home.

Tell ma to get her check book out. I'll take that offer. :cool2:
I have the room and board covered. You can sleep "under the Western Sky". I got 10 acres you can pick from. Don't worry, it don't rain much and we have about eraddicated the Mountain lion problem we just need to get this Wolf issue back under control. You'll love it out here.
As far as the instruction goes. As long as your check clears, feel free to teach me whatever you can about excavator operation. I am all ears.:waving:

No it would not work for you and those mud holes you find yourself in. Out here though it would be just the ticket. It would be nice to have dozer capability (even if it is limited somewhat) and an excavator in one machine. I cant justify a dozer but wrap it up in an excavator that is easy to transport like a 150 size machine and I am all about it.

Question:
Hows the speed on those machines? Is it like a regular excavator with high and low speed or does it have variable speeds like a dozer. What really would be nice is if you could flip a switch and the left joystick would operate just like a dozers control instead of using the two petdals.

I wonder what size dozer would it compare to as far as its capacity.Like a 650k Case or Deere,or bigger. The blade has wings that fold out, plus 6-way,right.
It wouldn't be like running a dozer as far as slopes and tight areas. You would probably have to have a skid there to help at times.
I do like how easy the minis are to grade with.:usflag:

The dozer controls are separate but I think that the travel is still with the sticks.
I am not sure what its dozer is equivilent to. It has 95 hp and weighs 36K or so. I would guess that just by looking at numbers probably somewhere between a 550 and 650.

That machine compares to the 158 Komatsu I used to run. It doesn't have the reach but it has the speed. Kobelcos are actually known for being quick so you have to be a fast operator. That machine would have the 3.9 Cummins power I can't remember which brand of pumps.
That price is really good for a machine that size. The blade runners were in demand people couldn't find them.
You would have to get used to the lack of reach thou. A blade runner is good for utility work or digging and backfilling foundations.

They run Kawasaki pumps, their top speed ain't no land speed record breaker, but they can push as much as a D4 with more power, they are sooooo much better now than when they first came out with the original Blade Runners. All it needs is a quick coupler for some different buckets.

Get a dozer lined up,and i'll come down and help. The room and board would be all i ask.How long of a road are we talking?Just so i'm back for spring thaw!
Looks like a long winter up here.
I went to El Paso(Ft. Bliss) for basic training when i was in the Army.Station at Ft. Hood later. So where are you from there?
Went down one winter and worked on a dam at Las Cruces(Hatch) New Mexico, interesting job.Job site was 30 miles back along a levee along the Rio Grande River. :usflag:

When I worked for a rental company up north, we got so busy and so many people needed 120's we started re-renting kobelcos from a dealer...those things are fast. I kid you not, every week we had a thumb broken on those machines because they moved so quick and had a lot of power.

That's what happens when you buy an excavator from an Asian company that also owns their own steel mills.
The old Kobelco Mark 2-5 series were crap, there were quite a few people that broke booms, my brother cracked his 150 and the 210 booms on the end of the main boom and in the curve, Kobelco has since updated the boxing inside the booms to prevent that.

Kobelco use higher hydraulic pressure which makes them fast. I have used a 160 Kobelco and I had troubles with it they moved too quick. I guess you get used to it.

I checked around and he is mostly right. The price is pretty good. The resale value is through the roof even in a shitty economy apparently. I found a cheaper one with 2500 hours on it in Utah for 67K. I am interested in that excavator. There is a guy here that is interested in buying my 9020B. If the difference was right it might be worth it. I would really miss the reach of my long stick 160. The super structure is pretty much a 135 sized machine. The weight comes from the dozer. It would be a little more difficult digging these big foundations that are dug here. However not impossible.

Reach is kinda priceless sometimes. I go back and forth on the blade, I question if it would get in the way? If you get the concept down and apply it, could really be a good thing. You probably send a skid out when digging, can you think of times you wouldn't have to have the skid there with the Bladerunner?

I usually have a skid steer at the hole. I do that to move the topsoil which is priceless here away from the hole. I also use it to clean up around the hole. The blade runner might replace having the skid steer on site. It would just be really versatile having the blade on the front, much like a mini ex.

The one thing I didn't like about the 158 Komatsu which is the same boom set up as the 150 Bladerunner was the lack of reach. I was used to the hitachi 150 it had more reach so running the 158 could be frustrating at times.

KSSS, you use the skids to clean up around the hole meaning to grade things out once the back filling is done? If you get an excavator with a pro link thumb like that bladerunner, you won't need a skid...just grade beam it and you're set. Or do you do it differently?

I took a bolt out of a cutter blade on each side. The I cut 2 holes in each side of the grade beam and bolt it to the bucket. This gives it some flex so your able to grade angles/ slopes.

It did sound like he bought the machine more for doing his own house. I looked at his website and he does the foam forms.
He might be selling the machine because it doesn't have enough reach or the machine isn't big enough.
Kinda the wrong time to try sell a machine with things not doing so well in the construction industry.
I was thinking the same thing. I imagine he is not selling much for foam forms right now and would really like to get out from the payment. That machine is also listed in Machinery Trader. I think he is going to have to drop that price another 20K to generate much interest I suspect. He is about 300 miles away from me on the otherside of the C Divide.

Yeah to get someone interested you have to have a shocking price not just a good deal. It sounded like he moved there didn't it? Is Wyoming getting any oil/gas work? It is a nice package, just throw in a 440 and you're set.

Yea, they are punching holes like crazy, I am not sure how much work there is for an excavator though. He must have had some money, kinda surprising you would tie up that kind of money in that much iron, just to do the excavation for a house and commercial building, even when times are good. I think your right on the price. 18 months ago that might get someones attention, now it has to be a surprising price to gather much attention. I watched a 150 Blade Runner with 1.2K on the clock go for 105K a couple years ago in South Dakota. I thought that was high then. I would be curious as to what he owes on this machine.

Dirtman, that's a nice set up as well. The only thing about using a grade beam is you can pick it up and drop it any time you want without having to get in and out of the cab. Plus you can press down on the soil while grading which gets it super flat and smooth.

Oh that's true. Yeah if you're grading to get the surrounding area smooth and level and contour the land for water flow etc. then a beam is better. But for you, that works...I think it's time for a quick change system so you can get a clean up bucket.

I think the price of the machine is out of sync with the market right now.
I bet he either has serious equity in it or can afford the payments long term right now.
In other words, the man can fund the machine while it sits. He's waiting for the right buyer to come along. For example, there is a house down the road from me that my wife really likes, its been on the market for about 18 months and it precedes the market collapse in housing. The price on the house has not been reduced since it was listed I had her call an agent that I've been friends with for ages. He told her that they really do not need to sell the house-they are just seeing if the right buyer comes along. Hint-it ain't me.
I would run the numbers very close on this before a purchase. What's the CBA to the bottom line. Can other machines that would normally be on a job with an excavator make money on other projects, i.e. will it perform the job functions of two machines and meet your requirements?
I better really get two machine performance out of this and not just 1.5.
