Just wondering if anyone on here could tell me how hard the test is ?
I've studied the core manual and average 86 over all on the sample tests.
The ornamental and turf is only 16 pages of reading with no sample test and the worst pictures I have ever seen for identifying weeds and pest. I have also been studying the 8A manual on mosquito management and I see where it could be a bit confusing.

Thinking about going down later this week and taking them, any help will be appreciated.

Look for KACYDS or PHS on here. Both are great guys and could probably give you some tips.

I wish I could help you, but I took the test in 1990, and the only thing I can remember is that I put my name on the top of the page. Sorry.

I see now you've been doing this about as long as me which means you're probably about as old as me. "old as dirt" Honestly, that's almost all I remember about my test...

Somedays I feel as old as dirt, esp. when spring gets here. Not to bad right now. lol :laugh: 42 is not old, but its not as easy as when we were in our 20's.

That is about all I remember too. I took it back in Late 1979,but it was the aerial applicators test and not the ground owner operator. So I guess this makes me old also !

43 y/o here and yes, Spring can be difficult. If you've taken an applicator test before you should do fine. PHS may still be able to help. I believe he moved to LA from CA so he's probably taken the test more recently...

Excuse me Kids, But I earned a BS degree in Plant Science at age 62 years young. I earned a AS degree in Golf Course Management at age 59 years young. I am 68 Years young at present time and dragging hose daily. True I am now part time or semi retired. But working even part time does a body good.

Ric,

I'm glad to see that someone at 68 years young can still pull a hose. I keep telling my wife that I will probably work until the day I die. I seen to many people retire, and sit around and do nothing. Next thing you know, I'm going to a funeral. Keep up the great work Ric, and thanks for a the great advice.

It's all crystal clear now. You have a low tolerance for stupidity because you have better things to do with the time you have left than to deal with it... you're also right about work doing a body good. I've gained 10lbs over the holidays and I'm ready to get things rolling again. As much as I like seeing what others on here have to say, typing doesn't do much to help you shed unwanted pounds. Did you see where Treegal's compost/mulch pile is on fire? I'm sure she'd appreciate your advice on what to do with it.

Yes my superior genes just can't deal with the unwashed masses. About my only problem is getting my over inflated head through door ways. Thank you for helping increase my head size. BTW most of my family lived into their 90's and even over a 100. So don't count me out just yet.

As for Treegal, spontaneous combustion seems to be a regular event with her. Since Doug Dashall the then Moderator of Green, had me ban from the organic forums many years ago because he couldn't take real science, I am still not able to read or post in that forum. Doug came and went but I am still here. Interesting enough Doug was a civil engineer for the Government and never worked or had credentials of any kind in the green industry. But he was Politically Correct. Something I have never been or will ever be. However I do believe in using Organic material along with my 21th century technology to achieve the best of both worlds.

I apprecitate the offer, but not into that anymore. 20 years ago, yeah. Getting to old I guess.

Never been to Miami, farthest south I have been is Orlando (many times). Always wanted to take a drive down to Key West. Every been there?

gregory
01-15-2009, 02:51 PM
yea went down there 2 years ago.. do yourself a favor don't drive.. come to naples or fort myers and take a boat.. if you drive it will be the longest drive you have ever been on.. after you get to maimi its another 4hr drive to key west its mostly a two lane road and if some dumb ass wants to do 30mph good luck getting around him and if there is a wreck on a bridge get ready to sit for awhile... it mostly a party town also the beaches suck down there.. there aren't really any beaches down there.....

KACYDS

Just want to go there, just to say I have been. For beaches, we go to Panama City every year. Only about a 5 hour ride from here. Have been to Pensacola Beach also.

IMHO Pepsi cola is not the real Florida. It is more South Georgia or Alabama than Florida. However spring break in Panama City Beach rocks because while the Yankees go to Daytona the U of F, LSU etc goes to Panama City. BTW while Key West is a one time must see. It is a very happy City, In fact some might call it GAY. However Halloween is the only time I go to Key West for the big costume party by boat as Gregory has said. Google it because I am not posting a link that might be considered porn.

Gregory

Tootsie might still be on the corner of 441 and Something Dairy Road. But over 20 years ago it was the # one strip club, May still be. The multitude of girls were dressed in anything from Catholic school uniforms to Cleopatra and everything in between. In the same strip mall was Congress Billiards the biggest hustler pool hall in all of Florida. All the road players came to Congress Billiards. I gambled a lot in Congress but only went to Tootsie one time after a big win.

As for Miami in General My son is back on South Beach and has purchased a Condo just recently at a very good price in Mid Collins Ave on the Beach side. Several years ago he had an apartment in the 900 block of Collins Ave when he was in college that daddy paid for. Daddy has visiting rights and uses them every now and again. Starting at # 1 Ocean Drive Niki's Beach North to Hal-dale Pier it happens every night in South Beach. As a Night Club Jr Manager my son gets home from work at 7 am every morning. The money is good but the hours are long.

Not unlike Las Vegas, Miami is a party town. Of course it takes Money to party and there does seem to be a lot of Party Money in Miami. But maybe more important is the cultural make up of Miami. I dare say only 10% are true W.A.S.P. While the Hot Latin Blood of Cuba is dominate there are many other cultures there also. What most towns call exotic Miami calls Native. My family being Amerasian Fit right in. BTW My daughter was our county beauty Queen yet she is just another girl in Miami. A pure white Englishwomen is in fact the Exotic. Part of Miami Culture is they all dress to the Nines. If the link works here is my Son & Daughter.

Thank you. I am sure her boy friend of over 10 years thinks she looks OK also. She is my bragging right not that the son isn't. I ended up the single parent and raised both of them. Now they are raising me. Of course they both got their looks from me. BTW this picture was taken the night she recieved her medical degree from U of M just over a year ago.

Limo sounds interesting, Let me know more when the time gets near.

My boy just bought a condo on South Beach and works as a floor manager at the newest most hip Nightclub in a hotel on the beach. The problem is he works 24/7. While I have been to the club with royal treatment, but because my son works there I can't be comfortable letting lose.
