I've used paypal once or twice for those few customers where it worked out that way, not my favorite way of doing things.

I mean it's all right, I'm not about to turn it down when it comes to getting my money,
but it also costs me money, in terms of money I lose per every payment made this way
I'm better off making a physical deposit with all of the payments one time.

Maybe if you dislike the work involved in making physical deposits then it's not so bad,
but I like making deposits and I like getting paid for that, yes even if it's not much,
because to me making deposits is so easy.

Also the lower the volume, the more it costs per transaction.
And to have a high enough volume to where it's cheap, I would need a BIG company (read: BIG).

Now that's just me.

Yeah, I set mine up to run through paypal. It works great. I know most new clients will pay that way, so I just pad the estimate a little to cover the cost of the paypal transaction and the small fee. It's really easy and it saves me from having to drive to the bank all the time.

Set it up with your customers that if they choose that payment method, they will be paying this "charge", what ever it may be. Many customers won't think twice about it, because it still makes it easier for them to pay. I think it helps in collecting pay as well. If times are a little tight, people can just stick it on credit card.

I agree, if you are going to set it up so that you can be paid through PayPal, DEFINITELY add on their charge. Through eBay, it's like 5% + .30 I think. I don't know for direct payment though.

Ditch Paypal and get a real CC acceptance account. Sam's Club will do it for you for like $5.95 a month plus 1.9%.

Paypal is at 2.5% and .30 per transaction... and it's simple to use. I'm not saying I won't transfer my payment stuff to another place in the future, but for what I need it for, the paypal setup works perfectly like clockwork for me.

Couldn't agree with you more on this.
