View Full Version : electronic rustproofing?

Someone told me about an electronic device that is connected with the body of the truck sending out pulses of some sort of electrical charge that prevents oxidation. He swears it works. Only $125.00 to install it.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Yeah, I know he is a good salesman if he even got you to consider it. Sounds like those things in the back of Motor Trend that you just put in your gas tank and you instantly get 5 MPG more. If anything works that well for such little money then everyone would have one.

Well, I have only one person that can testify to it.
He has an '85 Chevy. The unit is attatched to the body which has some spots where the paint came off- no rust, and bare metal showing. The Bumper is ready to fall off, it has so much rust.
There is a truck accesories store here that sells it for $200.00.
I'm almost sold, but...

save your money its a hoax. there is no way to stop electrolisis and rust that easily. you could get beter results with a gallon of derusto paint and a brush. if it sounds too good too be true......you know the rest.
