Here's the latest addition to my business. It will be used for my decorative concrete division. On rare occasions I may use it on a landscape install. It's a 2001 GMC 3500 cutaway van with a 16' body. Good ole 5.7 GM with 125k on the clock.

Nice truck, man. Make sure you put the sides of that to good use for advertising. You could have one hell of a rolling billboard!

nice box, i love box vans for some reason
the company i used to work for had a 14 ft box van that we used as a sprinkler truck from 2002-2005, in 2005 we converted it for hardscaping, and installs, and it was the best change that was made there
we had everything we needed...wall glue, edgeing, spikes, screening poles, 2 saws, every hand tool ever needed, shovles, rakes, handheld blower we even kept grass seed & fert for fixing small damaged areas. also tools that were in the van were ALWAYS kept in the van so it was always there. if it rained we could throw everything in the van and wait untill it the rain passed. i dont post too much on lawn site, but i love a good box van filled with all the necessary tools

Im currently looking for a box truck. I missed a late model 2004 14' for 9000, Im kicking myself for that.
Theres a 2003 that the feller wants 3400 that Im trying to go look at.
Just curious does that truck have the old style 350 or the new engine?

To answer some questions, this truck won't see any mowing duty. It didn't come with a ramp. It has the old style chevy 5.7 motor. They quit using it in the pickups in 98-99 and used it in the vans until 2002.
If I was still trying to grow the mowing side of things, I'd definitely set up a 16' box truck for mowing. Currently I'm using a 14' enclosed behind an F150 for the mowing. Now's the time to buy a box truck if you want one, the market's flooded and you can buy used ones CHEAP.

Awesome Purchase! We are one of the only companies using these box vans in our market. You save so much money in efficency. I save thousands of dollars a year running this way. I am looking at purchasing a couple more when we get closer to the season. On some jobs we also can just leave the truck there, and save the expense of fuel. Make sure to check with your ins. agent if you plan to do this. We have about 35k-40k in tool sitting in the truck at all times.

Great pick up. It will serve you well with landscaping and keeping your equpment and materials dry. Also you don't have to worry about your plants getting wind burned.:clapping:

I was using my 14' enclosed lawn trailer for the decorative concrete work. I'm really excited about not having to switch everything out. It seemed like I'd always forget to put something in the trailer. Now I just have to decide whether to repaint the box and do vinyl or just wrap it.

where in Florida are you? I've been wanting to re-paint or vinyl my truck for quite some time. I'm in Jacksonville, any recommendations? have you priced it out yet??

I'm in Gainesville. I'm guessing I can have the box repainted for $500-700. Based on what my pickup and enclosed were to get vinyl, I'm guessing the lettering on this will be around $500. Wraps are REALLY expensive. I'm thinking $3k plus. I'm leaning toward paint and vinyl right now. Wraps are crazy expensive and I've been told that they don't age very well in the Florida sun.

I know a feller who painted his box with house paint and a roller, it actually looked ok. Im guessing if you used automotive paint it would take 2 gallons, or around 400$. Mabey you can get some stencles and spray paint your own lettering?
