Utah homeowner with bumpy lawn

The home we bought is 5 years old. The lawn is so irregular that when you walk on it, you could almost sprain your ankle. They're all over the place. Do I just try to spread dirt? Organic material? Can I use my broadcast spreader? Will I need to overseed or will the grass grow through the dirt? It's the end of February now and I live in Utah. Should I aerate then do it around March? THANK YOU ! You could try speading dirt to even the ground out. You may also want to rollitwith the biggest roller you can get.

If the lawn is in bad condition, remove it with a sod cutter, spread some soil, rake and roll to a nice finished grade, and then sod it.
