The perception of ones company culture is one that will vary from the viewpoint of the business owner and the viewpoint of the employee. The owner may feel that the place is fun, open and inviting while the employees may perceive something quite the opposite.to accurately determine the culture of ones company,us as owner's or key leaders should be willing to "risk" asking for feedback from everyone else within the company. This input, when measured agaist our own perceptions, will give us a good basis to determine if the culture is the one we want, one that fosters growth and development, and one in which employees will feel valued and energized! We are currently looking for help in accomplishing this process but are unsure of the best way to do so. Looking for suggestions!

All begins with looking in the mirror and how you treat others around you in business or general life.
Our own perceptions become clouded when overconfidence and too much ego is involved.
Why is this post in the Questions section, should be in General Discussion.
Allowing an employee to share his/her feedback while maintaining anonymity is key for receiving subjective and unbiased opinions. If they can/could type out their answers then they could fill out a questionnaire w/o their penmanship being visible which may give their identity away.
Or perhaps you could hire another service to take in this info thus eliminating as much bias as possible.
If you take in these opinions whether written or spoken directly - then you could not factor out any asskissers.

I just do the best that I can. I only have a couple of employees. I do my best to treat them right and I am more than fair with their compensation for the work that they do. I always make sure I ask their opinion and don't talk down to them. There have been times where I have lost my temper but I am always sure to tell them I am sorry and I than explain why I was upset with them. Every once in a while I ask them their opinions of the way things have been going. You would be amazed at the honesty you will get when they know that you will not get mad and take their opinions about the state of the company.
