All the talk about signs always gets me thinking about my Logo.
My best friend is a photographer/ sign maker. He changes his logo around every 3 years or so to keep is image updated.
I'm thinking about changing mine around a little. I like the color, I've got to keep that.
So a couple of questions.
1.) What do you think of the one I have now?
2.) How would you change it?

I wouldn't change it at all. I think it looks great. Let us know what you decide to do.

Yup, that's about it and maybe people on-line snooping around to find leads for telemarketing type calls. :hammerhead:

Changing your logo every three years like your friend does goes against about every rule there is with marketing your business. You want the customers to recognize your logo and it takes up to 13 times of an individual seeing your logo before they will remember it and feel comfortable doing business with you. Keep "branding" your logo, it looks clean, easy to read, and good design. Now just pound it in every potential customers head. Good luck

Exactly !!:)
The sign has a little shodowing and looks a little better than the plainer logo.

Yes I agree. If you change a logo you need at least 75% of it to look similar to the original design, such as color, font, size, ect...
The first image is my business card, so yes, it has no shadowing and i did that on purpose to project cleanliness, such as a clean and good looking yard.
The sign is a little more elaborate to look good at a distance. That sign was hand painted also.
My buddy changed his sign and you know by looking at it that it is the same company. Some people go too far with change and it makes you wonder about the company and why they changed. You just don't want people to wonder too much about why you changed your logo, but yet you want to keep your image "fresh". Sometimes I feel an image can go stale, and at that point your not attracting new customers.

just a random idea, the extended crosss of the "t" maybe have a small garden at the end. It would kind of go with your saying. Just a thought. It does look good as is though to

Thanks Lucky Star.
I'll probably end up keeping it the same for another year. After thinking about it, I will probably wait until I make a different move for my business, such as expansion or mass advertising to generate business.
Thanks for the posts.

If you feel your logo is out dated, there is nothing wrong with a change as long as people that already know you realize it's still you. Look at the Soda and Chip industry, they are constantly changing their logos to keep them updated and fresh looking to grab someones attention that might not have noticed them before.

I'm like others, if you do anything, just tweak it a bit. Looks good.
Personally, I don't care for the pale blue, but . . . .

Ya, I wouldn't do more than tweak it a little if I do change it.
Psychologically, light, or True Blue is proven to be the most "relaxing" and "trusting" color to customers.
Besides, when I started my biz, I was tired of looking at Navy Blue, Red, and Green that all the other companies use and was trying to stand out from the crowd. So far so good.

That looks good, White Gardens. I agree with what the others have said--tweaks are better than total revamps. Big corporations do it all the time--like John Deere, not that I like them, but they change their logo every so often. The latest logo was released in 2001, and the one before it was around since 1968. Here are the three last logos they had--all similar, but updated enough to make them look fresh.
Pepsi just changed their logo. Spent $4 million and customers already don't really like the new look.
If you do anything, make it subtle, but noticeable, if that makes sense. Enough change that folks will notice, but not so much that they don't recognize it. How long have you had this logo?

I've had the Logo for about three years. I'm sure that I can get a couple more seasons out of it before it goes stale.
I agree with everyone too, if I do change it will be subtle, just enough to keep it fresh.
That Pepsi logo looks like Dog Doo. It almost looks like a generic company is trying to rip off the logo.
Kinda like the wall-mart brand of soda Dr. Thunder.

HA!!
I can't believe you said that only because I've always wondered if it could potentially look like I'm a racist person, or the white and blue was screaming white power.
I was working on a property one time, and the neighbor was of African American decent. She asked me if I could do some ground cover for her etc.... I handed her a card, she glanced at it and said " The white gardner, I'll give you a call ".
I explained to her that it's White Gardens and my last name is White.
Luckily I've only had about 3 people bring it up. Besides, I'm an equal opportunity offender.

My best friend is a sign maker and he designed the font himself, I'm not sure what he calls it though.
The sign at my house was hand-painted. Sure, I did most of the prep-work and base layers for the sign, but I still got a heck of a deal considering it was hand painted.
