Got my first new sale for 2009 season, had a customer add on garland to 4 columns and a wreath. pretty decent new add-on sale at 1300 bucks. my goal for new product sales is 150k for 2009, so hey, almost 1% of the way there !

And to think I am still trying to collect from 2 customers from last year.:hammerhead:

I sold 2 new jobs in January but I am not even thinking about the decorating season for about another 2 months (except to collect my money)

Nice job, are you advertising now or was that just an oddball thing?

i'm not advertising other than yellow pages which is an all year thing. I've upsold a few folks since then and I am sitting on about 3 grand in new sales for 2009.

I have about 6 customers who still owe me from 2008, about 10 grand total, and I've got 3 that owe from 2007, about 1500 or so. . sad to say, about 2-3 percent of folks, WEALTHY folks mind you , are losers.

Like many others I am thinking about getting into this slowly to supplement our off season.

A question that I have is do any of you guys require 1/2 down before installing. I know its apples and oranges, but when we are staining decks we get 1/2 after the deck is cleaned, then the remainder after completion.

Thanks

Supposed to be 1/2 down 1/2 at install. But we all know that is never the case 100% of the time.

We do half down and half due within 5 days or we come take our stuff back. It's a benifit if renting them the lights.....

1/2 down and 1/2 on install completion. residential- cash in hand if they prepay and get a discount for a early summer price or an early install discount price. Commercial is not discounted. 1/2 down on new jobs, 1/2 due at completion of install, or many times you have to bill it through thier system.
