I am not claiming victory yet - but so far so good.
In my quest to replace the front tires on my 1976 PK 2414. I wrestled with one the other day prying and struggling. Finally my son put me on to cutting the metal bands. I did and found success.
So tonight I took on the other rim and tire. I stole a trick from my motorcycling son and broke the bead by using the jack on the trailer.
Hooked up trailer to the truck and put the tire/rim under the jack and lowered it until the bead popped, sort of like the suggestion to use the high lift jack.
I was able to pop both sides off then wrestled it off with pry bars. Used the pry bars and worked the new tire and innertube on. So far so good.
