Well after we took MLK day off I was ready to get back to the yards, I went outside and noticed my rear side window was busted out, and my chaunsaw was gone alomg with my tailights, tailgate, mirror, center console and ashtray!! I could not beleive what I was seeing. I called the police they never showed and im still waiting, my insurabce company came the next day, looked at damages, cut me a check, and the glass guy just left. All in all it was around $2300. in dameges minus my 750 deductible. Already picked up most of the parts to install myself except tailgate. Farmers insurance dealt with this better than I could of imagined, or is that how its supposed to work? Ive come to expect so much less from insurance companys that I was real nervous as to how this was gonna turn out. My wife and I just bought a new dodge journey and paid this truck off(2004 hd 2500 dodge) the day before this happened. Just thought I would share this small yet very upsetting incident since it happened in my driveway! Insurance guy said the dodge trucks have over taken the fords when it comes to this type of theft. Dodge truck owners beware.

That's bull sh*t. I'm very sorry to hear about that. I hate people that take what isn't theirs. At least it seems like your insurance acted quickly.

This is the third time someone has broken into our trucks at our house, we live in a nice neighborhood to, i just dont understand it. I think its kidds, thing is i woke up to use bathroom around 4am i thought i heard the truck beeping, went outside and checked it out and i didnt notice the window? We are installing more security lights, on side and front, motion kind. I have german shepard that usually sleeps outside, but it was cold so he was inside with us, he usually barks at anything. This is starting to really upset me. i cant even park my cars in the driveway of my own house, and this is a nice neighborhood we live on a golf course for goodness sake. I guess it doesnt matter when parents dont pay attention to what there kids are doing.

That's a shame. Maybe look at getting one of those aftermarket security systems for the truck. It shouldn't have to come down to this but I guess in todays world you've got to do what you've got to do to protect your property. We've had break ins on our street too. I now keep my truck parked right under the flood light, which is closer to the house.
