What do you charge to put down fertilize and overseed? Do you charge so much per bag, per pound, per square foot or what? I have been thinking about $5 for every 5 pounds. What do you guys think?

For Seed Iwas paying $1 To a $1.25 per # in 50 # bags depending on the blend. When overseeding I apply 4 to 8 #a thousand depending on customer. I charged $2.00 a pound for the seed, but most of the time I was Also aerating, so you might try to get a little more if you are just applying the seed. Hope this helps Harvestman

$5 for every 5lbs you will be breaking even. Fescue is generally around the $1 per pound range.
I usually charge $28 per 1000 sf, this includes aerating, seed, and starter fertilizer.
You live in my favorite place. HOME OF JACK DANIELS. Send me a bottle???

Are you using Kentucky 31 fescue which is a tall fescue or using a turf fescue?

I overseed with a blue/rye grass mix @ $5.00 per # with a 3# min.
I also put down a 1/2 lb of N per 1000 sq ft at the same time @ $5.oo per 1000 sq ft.
These prices are if work is done at same time as aeration.
A great add on-we sell lots of this.

What method?
Job Cost Per
Aeration $8.00 1000 sq/ft
Starter Fert $4.00 1000 sq/ft
Seed (Shade) $8.00 1000 sq/ft
Seed (Fescue) $7.00 1000 sq/ft
Job Cost Per
Slit seeding $15.00 1000 sq/ft Starter Fert $4.00 1000 sq/ft
Seed (Shade) $16.00 1000 sq/ft
Seed (Fescue) $14.00 1000 sq/ft
Your $5 per 5 pounds has no mark up on it. As you can see slit seeding uses more seed per 1000 sq/ft so the price is much more.
As you can see I get $8 or $15 per 1000 sq/ft for the opening of the ground. $4 per 1000 for starter at a x5 mark up. And the seed has been doubled in price.
