I will be upgrading this season to a 48" or 52" WB with a velke. Was wondering what one was better the single or double wheel. Is there a big difference between the two. Or is it just personal preference?

Buy a 1 wheeled so you can leave 3 wheel lines.

Or get this one so you only leave 2 wheel lines.

I suggest using jungle wheels or something to that type of velke. The double wheel doesn't leave ruts in the yard as much as single wheel. Just my experience.

I have always used a single wheel velke w/ 36" metro w/o any problems or too noticible marks in the lawn. I think a single wheel is easier to turn around. W/2 wheel velke you have to straddle the velke which is a lot wider.

Bottom line is it's preference.

i would definatly go with the double wheel. It distributes the weight over two wheels rather than just one, plus you won't have a singe lne running down the middle.

Do you want 1 flat tire to worry about or 2 flat tires to worry about?

Are you mowing flat or hilly accounts? It seems like it would be easier to jump off a 1 wheel velke if you're mowing hilly accounts.

Before I bought my new Lazer, I used the Bullrider from trimmertrap. It is a very solid 2 wheel velke. I got alot of use out of it before I sold it. I would highly reccomend it to anyone. I have never tried a proslide but from what I hear people who own them seem to be pleased. Good luck

I have the Jungle Wheel.... Two wheeled. I like it. It has a big platform and seems to balance well. It won't wheely the mower. Plus it doesn't leave any unwanted tracks. I haven't used the single wheel sulkies, so I really can't comment on them. Just my .02

I also have the Jungle Wheels and I love them. Never used a single wheel, but from what I've heard, they are harder to get your balance on.

We have been using one wheel velke...the reason for is being whn you need turn go across hills and have to make a turn and get off the velke its alot easier in a one wheel version..just think how do you walk beside a 2 wheel velke ?? A one wheel velke is easy to walk beside while you turn on a difficult section. I also invested money in each velke we have and got rid of the stock wheel and got a solid rubber wheel so that it will never punchure ever again.

depending on what mower you buy. If you get a Toro get the Tru-Trac from them. I don't own one but use one often from a family memeber who owns another LCO. He loves them. I like how they float on both sides. takes some gettin used to though.

I"ve had both. The one wheel seems to be hard on the ankles.

With the two wheel style, even if one tire goes flat you can finish the day. Just stand closer to the one good tire.

You can even adjust your stance better for those long cuts.

Go with the double wheeled unit. You will be happy.

Ive been useing the one wheel velke now for 11yrs there my favorite, its like skiing, ive heard alot of yall say they hurt your ankels but its never been a problem for me. I jog alot and weight-lift regulary so it all depends if your in shape. But i can go deeper into ditches with the one wheel. Marks Mowing Service.........ps I don't have any problems with the three wheel track.

I have had both in the past. Just make sure it is hinged so that you are not directly conected to the mower. From that I mean when you turn the velke should turn as well. The picture above seems to be able to pivot. That's what you want on hills. Without a hinge or pivot point your weight tends to pull the mower sideways on any slope.

I have both styles. They each have their pros and cons, but I just recently bought a set of Jungle Wheels and I really like them. They are adjustable in the length so you get a comfortable reach to the mower handles. Also the design forces the front end of the walk behind down, which is nice for bumpy terrain.

Two wheel all the way. I go for looks when your done mowing a yard. Why have an extra track when you dont need one. The two wheel will look alot sharper in the end. I've had both and will never own a single again.

I own a set of Jungle Wheels, and love them. My opinion. . . best on the market. I have used the single wheel in the past, and the two wheel design is far better.
